CS: is this liquid potassium iodide fake? and how much should be taken daily?
i found a 2 fl oz bottle selling for roughly $7 at a local shop.
they say one should be taking 5 servings a day, but doing my own maths it looks more like 6 servings a day. that is: i am dividing 130mg by 24mg of iodine per serving. Or should those 130mg be milligrams of potassium iodide (which is provided in 32mg per serving)?
thanks!

Re: CS: is this liquid potassium iodide fake? and how much should be taken daily?
thank you CS, of course I had already seen that page long ago...
what i wonder is: is this liquid form better than the tablets? because a bottle a day is kind of expensive...
and... the fact that nowhere on the internet you can not find any mention of this specific product makes it sound like it's some fake that they quickly pumped on the market in the past few days...
also: are you still taking KI yourself? where are you located if i may ask? continental US?
I am in the SF bay area and this reading was very disquieting: http://www.nuc.berkeley.edu/RainWaterSampling
they are trying and underplaying the risks by stating:
as if nuclear physicists weren't the slightest aware of the difference between being radiated and being contaminated...
thank you, and sorry for the amount of questions!!!

At this level, you would need to drink 632 liters of this rain water to obtain the same radiation effects you obtain on a round-trip flight between San Francisco and Washington D.C. Therefore, the increase in radiation levels in the rain water due to the events in Japan remain extremely small.

Let's say if you're already taking iodine, you needn't worry about taking so much. If on the other hand, you're iodine deficient like the estimated 95% in the nation are, even then taking 130 mg of KI isn't necessary, but it would be a good idea to take 12.5 mg or more per day. 130 mg is only necessary if you're relatively close to the source of the fall out.
Rain water (a great source of true, perfectly structured, mineral containing water) is unfortunately often found with radioactive strontium and other bad things.
