The krill oil is a bit pricey and I'm looking at fish oils that could give me the EPA and DHA I need for more bang for the buck than krill.

What's a good fish oil?
Should I get fermented ones from blueIce, or distilled ones (vacuum distilled).

On a different note, would it be beneficial to take vitamin E complex with fish/krill oils to prevent the oil from oxidizing in the stomach?

Looking at Green Pastures Blue Ice Fermented Cod Liver Oil I found these numbers.

teacup - Fermented CLO is probably the last of the good cod liver oil.

Because of research on the real effect of derivatives, getting lots of EPA and DHA isn't really such a good idea.

DHA primarily very beneficial, but the quantity doesn't have to be that great. Astaxanthin in Krill is at least 300 time more potent than Vitamin E. Also the phospholipids carry the DHA right into the cell, making the assimilation, absorption much better than fish oil. Depending on what or where you read, there is a suggestion that krill oil is between 20 and 40 times superior to fish oil.

Would it be ok if i took both krill oil and fermented CLO daily.. the fish oil has good benefits on the mood that I like to get. Would adding krill + clo throw off the EPA/DHA ratios?

teacup - DHA is much more valuable than EPA, and actually the less EPA, the better. CLO is much richer in DHA than fish oil. The benefit of CLO is the nutrient contents.

The phospholipids in krill have an additional benefit to the brain. If you take both, the amount of CLO should be quite small.

For the purposes of optimal health, incorporating some raw, unadulterated (unprocessed) parental Omega-6 oil will insure maximum oxygen transfer.

I take 4 caps of neptune Krill a day, would you say a tea spoon of fermented CLO a day is small enough?

teacup - That would be a good amount. Fermented CLO is potent and a little goes a long way.

Also, you might want to half your krill dosage, unless you're going for a therapeutic effect on lipids.

Would taking butter oil have any effect on the krill oil or CLO? do you recommend the butter oil?
Would taking Vit E complex prevent oxidation of the krill / fish oils in the stomach?
