Sodium Lauryl vs Sodium Laureth sulphate Empty Sodium Lauryl vs Sodium Laureth sulphate

Post  Fibonacci Tue Nov 09, 2010 9:06 pm

I e mailed Caragen, I reputable company from Korea, about their Renokin shampoo. I was concerend because it contains Sodium Laureth Sulphate. This was their reply:

''Sodium Lauryl sulphate was reported hazard to health. Sodium laureth Sulphate is derivatives of SLS which does not cause harmful effect''

Ive checked this forum for discussions on SLS, and most, unsurprisingly are against SLS. Is there a view as to wether Sodium Laureth is ok as opposed to Sodium Lauryl?

Thanks

There is a lot of confusion as people in threads are referring both as SLS, but Sodium Laureth Sulphate is supposed to be the safer one or does it also affect TRPV1? Edit* I have found the study and it seems that Sodium Laureth Sulphate also affects TRPV1: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19540328
