Re: Mercola on the fiber diet
CS, where's Dr. Atkins study proving heart-disease is reversible with his diet, considering you two have the same diet virtually? If it could be done, as you suggest, why hasn't it been done yet?

misterE - You're clearly not reading very much of what I post--maybe hardly anything at all.
I will get to the point if not already of just ignoring these questions completely.
I do not recommend a specific diet for anyone. Using Atkins is too simplistic.
I've already posted enough studies to prove that a ketogenic diet, low carb, high fat helpful against metabolic syndrome and heart disease.

It may be useful because a low-carb diet reduces the symptoms of the Metabolic Syndrome (by avoid insulin-secretion), but it has not been shown to reverse it. Period. Once again, if it has, give me the name of the doc who made it happen.

Re: Mercola on the fiber diet
misterE - There's thousands of doctors reversing diabetes with a low carb, high fat diet. I could list a page long but my time is short. When will this argument ever end?
Wouldn't it be easier to go on another board and preach to those who are too ignorant to combat McDougallism?

Re: Mercola on the fiber diet
I think it's useless. This guy is a joke. Just make a topic with many studies about fibers, fats etc... which contradict his theories and each time he comes back with his well-prepared text followed by studies, just put the link to the topic.CausticSymmetry wrote:misterE - There's thousands of doctors reversing diabetes with a low carb, high fat diet. He said he would only respond to message followed by link to studies, but you (this time), you didn't and he answered. Me, I did, and: "gone with the wind". No answer, nothing. He just ignored them and went another topic posting his favourite blablabla.
It's not the first time he does this. Each time, he is in trouble or he finds some study contradicting him, he goes away or ignore the message. Too easy.
For the pleasure: click, click
And if you have time: this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this

3. Research conducted at Duke University in 2003 found that patients that adhered to a low carb diet were much more likely to reverse diabetes, maybe even curing it altogether. Over the course of the 16-week study, 17 of 21 patients were able to significantly reduce their insulin doses by eating foods that were low in carbohydrates. Some were even able to completely stop the treatments. Also, a regular exercise routine was helpful in these cases.
Does a low-carb diet really help control or even reverse type 2 diabetes? According to a study from Duke University, a very low-carb diet (20 grams or less a day) gave participants better blood sugar control and more effective weight loss than participants who followed a low-glycemic reduced calorie diet.

Re: Mercola on the fiber diet
well, considering I don't think any group has really had any amazing results with hair loss reversal, I am not ruling out MisterE's or any theories now as possibilities.
But the link i posted above does show how low carb may be able to treat and reverse diabetes.

Zanza, to my knowledge, there hasn't been one single doctor who has reversed diabetes with a low-carb diet, I cannot find one myself, and I have many people here, including CS, and no one has given me the name of the doctor and the study showing diabetes is reversible with a low-carb diet.
Conversely Dr. Neal Barnard has successfully reversed it. He wrote a book on how to reverse it which you can read a lot of it here, but of course it was not headline news.

if you mean the filmmaker's movie, no I haven't watched it yet. His name is Collin Camino. He claims to have good results in Europe curing or reversing diabetes, but I wasn't able to find out about the information, it costs $17 to see.
