So, what are people's opinions on Nizoral/Ketoconazole?

I have been using Nizoral 2% almost since I first noticed my hair loss as it was being recommended by almost everyone I spoke to! For some, it seemed to be actually curing their hair loss almost single-handedly! lol (although I believe this is relatively rare!)

I just wondered what people's opinions of it were really, I mean I heard the reason it works so well is it inhibits 5ar, binds to androgen receptors, is anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal... I don't know about antimicrobial.. o.O

But yeah I'd love to hear some opinions on it's effectiveness, safety, anything really

Mad thing is I have this theory that it has the ability to significantly reduce my shedding in just a few days! I mean I might be imagining it but I use the stuff once or twice and I'm just sure that I don't see as much hair loss!

... maybe that's a sign inflammation is a significant part of mine.. or something

Anyway! Let's see what people think!

I'd like to hear peoples opinions too. I am thinking about buying the 2% version from Amazon and using it once a week just to see if it does anything positive. Also, is Nizorelle the same thing as Nizoral?

I think Nizorelle is the 1% version.

At the moment I am using it, as it does seem like a very potent anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and also a reasonable antiandrogen. In the long run though I may switch to something else (ideally something natural), or possibly introduce something else alongside it

Oh, for the record I'm going to try to move off of the shampoo though and onto preferably some kind of liquid solution, because it would be good to avoid SLS.
