Anything to bulk up diet?
I'm really trying to clean up my diet and started to eat a lot more vegetables and fruits, however I can't think of anything that will fill me a lot and bulk up my food, if you know what I mean. What do you guys usually eat in a day that fills you and considered healthy? Is something like brown rice healthy?

Eggs, salmon, nuts, fruits, vegetables, meat and brown rice is basically my whole non wheat and gluten diet. I feel great on it.

What kind of meat do you eat? s just meat you get in packets okay to eat? Also, what do you drink? I started drinking just tap water but i've read even that's not the best and you should try filter it whenever you can.

Mostly chicken and fish. I drink only water, tea and kefir. Some glasses of red wine in the weekends. I have a very strict diet now. I eat nothing that wont give me benefits, everything else I consider poison. Even chewing gums. I plan on getting a water filter soon.

Yeah i just checked the prices of some water filters and definetly going to get one probably in the next week or so. What kind of foods do you eat that fill you? Recently i've been eating mainly vegetables and meats but dont feel satisfied after eating them if you know what i mean.

Re: Anything to bulk up diet?
I guess my metabolic type leans more towards the sympathetic one. My breakfast consists of eggs and salmon and nuts, which I feel great on. I can basically go all day on that. For lunch, I eat nuts and some fruits/veggies. Gives me great energy.
For dinner, chicken/salmon with rice and vegetables. The night time is my carb-time, which I love. Makes me feel really satisfied and sleepy and ready for bed. During the day I am mentally very clear.
In the beginning of the diet-change I felt hungry during the day, with low mood, poor concentration and low blod-sugar. Now, I feel great. My body fat is soon to be gone and I feel so much healthier than the "bread and milk which will slowly kill you diet" the people around me live on... I can tell by just looking at them. Saggy eyes, posture and their never ending carb-crave is a definite sign of unhealthiness.

How bad is bread for your diet? Seems like i can't really go a day without escaping eating it. What carbs can i eat that are hair friendly?

Do regular stores sell that? What other carbs can i eat that are hair friendly, are carbs actually necessary, or can i survive on fruits, vegetables, nuts, meats pretty much.

tooyoung - If your ancestry originates from a cold climate, would completely avoid the fruits, grains and stick to meat, fish, fats and vegetables.
On the other hand if you originate from a warm climate, you could eat more of the carbohydrates.

tooyoung - A way to find out for sure if your triglyceride levels. If they are above 100 after eating fruits, it means they are not right for you. Too much carbohydrate and push down your phosphate levels and will lead to problems.

CS is 100% right - do not be afraid of fat (especially saturated, it's good for you if you do not mix it with fast carbs) - the safest fuel for you, especially if you're originally from the northern parts of the planet
i'm doing extremely well on red meat, butter, fatty goat cheese (not under 40% fat), eggs, fatty fish etc
go for fast oxidisers diet (or yang foods if you prefer to call it like that - sea salt, eggs, algues, fatty fish, lamb, beef
good way is to forget everything you've been told about diet and let your body decide - mine goes for lamb over chicken, chicken over veggies, veggies over fruit etc - the only veggies i crave are the northern ones (originating from cold parts of europe (or asia maybe) which are usually great sources of vit K

Are regular porridge oats okay to eat? How about milk? Don't really want to eat much meat or veg for breakfast. :/

Re: Anything to bulk up diet?
I agree with prague. When on my clean diet all I ate was this:
egg omelletes with olive oil and feta cheese with a lot of onions
red meats(steak mostly), wild fish(salmon and halibut mostly), nuts, veggies (broccoli mostly), oil and vinegar salads, protein shakes, fruits, boiled egg salads etc, cottage cheese.
carb sources were baked potatos and rices.
a cheat meal would be a home grilled cheeseburger with a lot of fresh veggies and whole wheat bun and "lite" fries made with sunflower oil.
I did great on a high fat diet
I'm going back to it now but i spend so much time at school its hard to.
Also, my parents are from the High balkans and my grandpa was a mountain man so I think this is why this diet works well for me

I'd say just listen to your body. Overtime you'll be able to feel how you do on certain foods. Some people need more carbs than others. Start with the basics that people have mentioned in this thread.

Re: Anything to bulk up diet?
I agree with most of the information in this thread, drop the "carbs" and load up on meat and veggies. Minimal fruit. Only natural stuff (it doesn't have to be organic, but something you could conceivably grow or kill yourself. So no bread, or cookies, minimal dairy, etc).
If you want to really "bulk up" lift HEAVY weights for low number of reps, say 4-6 reps, 4 times per week.
Sleep at least 8 hours per night.
When I was a jr/sr in college (about 20) and did this, I gained a ton of muscle and dropped fat. All I did was work, work out, eat, and sleep. It was entirely awesome and I wish I could go back to that lifestyle! Unfortunately (or fortunately at that time) I was working an internship in the middle of nowhere and didn't have any friends around, so social life was zero. Just a nightly call to my GF and that was it.

By bulking up, i meant adding food to my diet to satisfy myself without eating terrible. Trying to lose a bit of muscle actually.

Re: Anything to bulk up diet?
Hi I'm inteterested in undereating the day for detox and T promotion, and overeating the night, like the warrior diet.
But for you guys following this diet, do you eat like 3 meals in one, when you workout?
Can you give me the quantity, an example if you want to gain mass.
TY
