Is this a metal filing? (pic)

I just recently noticed that I have a dark area on one of my back molars. None of my other teeth have this. I was wondering if anyone knows what it is. Could it possibly be a metal filling from when I was younger?

no i dont think so, i have those too. Amalgam(metal) fillings do wear down, but they still look 'metal'. i think that orange stuff is some chemical filler they used yrs ago, back when i was in primary school. I think they put it there to kind of seal the molar, to stop it wearing down or something. i remember them painting it on the surfaces of my teeth, just cant remember wat it was, although being a kid, they probably didnt tell me.

i guess if u had a amalgam there, and it fell out or something that would cause discolouration, but i dont see why it would be orange, anyway, if it fell out, its gone now.

The best thing about amalgam fillings, is putting aluminium foil in ur mouth, and getting shocked from them. feels weird and tastes like metal lol.
