This echoes the sentiment of the Carotech study on Toco-8. Good to see even more supporting research!

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
Daily Recommended Dosage of Vitamin E
The recommended daily dose of vitamin E is 400 IU a day according to the website www.all4naturalhealth.com. Doses of vitamin E above 1000 IU a day may be toxic and doses over 10,000 IU a day taken over time have been shown to cause the loss of hair. The hair will grow back when the overdosing stops.
I take between 75 to 150 mg of Tocotrienols a day, is this in toxic levels???

So Vitamin E with Bio-Enhanced Na-RALA synergistically would be a great weapon against hair loss?

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
Vitamin E is a vital nutrient known mainly for its benefits to heart health. But vitamin E has many other properties that maintain health and has long been used both internally and externally. Vitamin E has been shown to help with the growth of hair as well as preventing hair loss. The exact mechanism is not known but vitamin E may prevent hair loss by the same mechanism that it prevents heart problems. Vitamin E helps with the growth of capillaries. When there are more capillaries, the circulation improves and it is thought that the improved circulation to the scalp is the trigger for preventing hair loss.
Vitamin E Grows Hair
Because it causes capillary growth, vitamin E can help hair to grow. The increased circulation speeds the growth of hair in many people. The additional nutrition can prevent split ends, help heal hair damaged by excessive use of a hair dryer, and cure dry hair as well.

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
I just found this article which states that tocotrienols are not absorbed by the body:
http://naturalhealthperspective.com/supplements/vitaminestory.html
"However, in fasting humans, the plasma tocotrienol concentration is NOT significantly increased after tocotrienol supplementation.[2] Thus, the transport, tissue concentration, and relative biologic functions of the tocopherols and the tocotrienols are disparate and possibly unrelated.[2]"
I hope this is not true because one of the components of my current regimen is Swanson's Full Spectrum Vitamin E, with Tocotrienols. I've read that Toco-8 and Tocosorb feature chemically modified forms of the tocotrienols which are better absorbed by the body. Does anyone know the details? Has anyone seen any progress due to Tocotrienol supplementation?

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
This study shows that dietary sesame seeds in conjunction with tocotrienol supplementation increased tocotrienol concentrations in skin and fat tissue of rats. Maybe we should take our tocotrienol supplements with a tablespoon of sesame seeds? Just throwing ideas out there.

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
I took 75mg - 150mg of Tocotrienols everyday for 7 months (most of the time, with a tablespoon of mixed seeds, including Sesame). I didn't notice anything noticeable to my hair.

The effect of tocotrienols (vitamin E) is more pronounced in those people who have been able to control their hair loss: I believe they (tocotrienols) can make your hair thicker and stronger.

I like this product. I think it gives a good bang for your buck compared to other products I've seen.
Also, PP runs sales fairly often so you can wait until they have a sale and then stock up.

Re: Vitamin E grows hair
vitamin E also enhances absorption of omega 3 fatty acids.
One last note about essential fatty acids concerns their relationship with vitamin E. Some studies have reported that there is a significant correlation between vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acid supplementation. Findings suggest that an inadequate intake of vitamin E results in a decreased absorption of omega-3. Hence, some experts suggest that vitamin E supplementation may be helpful in conjunction with omega-3 supplementation. (Wander, et al.)
