Cod liver oil - Daily dose
Ive tried several brands but right now its this one: http://www.iherb.com/Carlson-Labs-Norwegian-Cod-Liver-Oil-Lemon-Flavor-8-4-fl-oz-250-ml/2798?at=0
I like it and find the taste to be acceptable!
Im not sure about how much I should consume, right now I take 1 teaspoonful a day. Is this enough or should I increase?

Hey Misirlou
I`m one for Cod liver oil, since using no dry skin in winter, and no more stiff , clicking joints.
Make sure you get at least 500mg to 1000mg Omega 3.
I use Carlson Low A cod liver oil. 2 or 3 caps a day.
CS or nid will probably recommend Krill oil.

Re: Cod liver oil - Daily dose
I switch around between cod liver oil, fish oil, salmon oil, and krill oil. I'm always trying out different brands as well. I take a swig of the liquid when i'm at home and bring 2 capsules with me when i go out to eat. I take twice the recommended dose. I don't know about others, but regular fish oil seems to moisturize my skin the most.
Anyway, I remember CS saying that the only cod liver oil he recommends is fermented cod liver oil:

I haven't tried it though.

Re: Cod liver oil - Daily dose
My Doctor recommends at least 1000mg each of DHA and EPA a day. I was taking 6 capsules of the Carlson CLO a day, and that still didn't get me to 1,000mg of each. She recommended Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega which has 1626/1126mg epa/dha per teaspoon! This stuff is really expensive but I like that I don't have to consume so many pills everyday: http://www.iherb.com/Nordic-Naturals-Ultimate-Omega-Liquid-Lemon-Flavor-8-fl-oz-237-ml/14702?at=0
Any thoughts on the 1000mg of epa/dha a day CS? Do you know where she is getting those numbers from?
Is it possible to O.D. on omega 3's? If I took 2 tspns a day would that be too much?

Two to three per day.

It's not easy to over dose on Omega-3, because most everyone is already over dosed on Omega-6. Two tsp would be fine.

Re: Cod liver oil - Daily dose
I'm planning on getting some Green Pasture cod liver oil, but I'm also interested in butter oil. The combination is supposed to work extremely well for bone and tooth regeneration right? This is something I desperately need.
My concern here is that I don't seem to tolerate organic grass fed butter (i think because of the casein content) right now and I'm worried that the I won't tolerate the oil either. Don't want to waste 50 bucks on it...
I want a natural source of Vit D besides the sun as I cant always get outside and I have fair skin. Not to mention winter...
Any help? Anyone tried it that didn't do well with butter?

All you need is Vitamin K2, such as in Decalcify.
If you use cod liver oil, look for high Vitamin D cod liver oil.
