hormonal link to hair loss
I thought this was interesting..

But the hormonal link in balding is complex. Eunuchs, who produce no testosterone, never go bald -- even if carrying a baldness gene. However, if castrated men with a family history of baldness are given testosterone, they lose hair in the classic horseshoe-shaped pattern.

I'm not really sure I believe that animal fats are to blame and the fact they increased..

The researchers note that Japanese hair was thick and healthy, with a small gland and little scalp oil, until the occidental habit of consuming animal fat crept into their diet after World War II. This change has led to a significant height increase in the Japanese population, but it has also resulted in more Japanese men losing hair.

Estrogen vs DHT
I too am very interested in getting a grip on hormonal influences on hairloss.
My queries revolve around the role of estrogen. My concern being that when I took finesteride i found by blocking estrogen production using indole 3 carbinol, I could avoid some of the side effects I had gotten through the use of propecia. Therefore my confusion is how much of the side effects are actually to do with reducing DHT and how much are actually to do with rising estrogen levels. (I would really like someone in the know to give a laymen's guide to how this all works)
If you are a male individual who has a balance more in favour of estrogen, and you take a DHT inhibitor, are you causing alot of damage due to increasing estrogen levels. I know this is neither technical or well thought out, I want to start taking DIM and I just wanted to get clued up.
All thoughts appreciated!
