glycine and depression
Some interesting studies going on with the simplest amino acid and how it works in the brain. Glycine is a neurotransmitter and has the ability to both inhibit and excite cellular reactions. Some say this can help cause depression and also possibly alleviate depression. Just taking glycine supplements may not do much but fooling around with glycine receptors in the brain could hold promise...which these studies are looking into.
