BMAL1 and PER1/2 are two core components of the mammalian circadian clock, which is responsible for controlling a number of daily activities, including the regulation of metabolism, sleep/wake cycles, and body temperature.
So in diabetics, the deregulation of BMAL1 and PER1/2 has been linked to an increased risk of hair loss. Specifically, higher levels of BMAL1 have been associated with an increased risk of hair loss, while higher levels of PER1/2 have been associated with a reduced risk of hair loss. It is thought that the deregulation of these two proteins disrupts the normal circadian regulation of metabolism and hair growth, leading to an increased risk of hair loss.
BMAL1 and PER1 or 2 are involved in the dysregulation of glucose metabolism, leading to higher levels of glucose in the blood. This is because BMAL1 and PER1 or 2 are responsible for controlling epigenetics (the expression of genes) that are important for glucose and glut-4 metabolism, such as those involved in glucose uptake, storage, and utilization. When their expression is dysregulated, this can lead to a decrease in the amount of glucose taken up and stored, resulting in higher glucose levels in the blood.
In plain English, zero carbs all of this will be better managed.

@ CS: How are you doing on the carnivore diet? As I remember correctly your prior diet has been pretty heavy in meats with occ. pizza and sourdough etc..
But you are still taking all the supps like ECE, lipoic acid, curcumin etc. with it?

The pizza is still in there, so it's closer to 90% carnivore, 10% pizza. On pizza day, It's a one-meal a day, so do not
have to worry about the Randle cycle so such, and I'll take all the supplements on those days.
On regular days, I'll take less supplements, since there's no need to worry about the effects of glucose/insulin.
So the reason I decided to go for the carnivore diet was it started to feel clear how my body handled carbohydrates were dimming out like a light-switch. I've had many decades of decadence, eating lots of fun foods. So might not be as exciting to eat anything, however life is a lot easier in some respects.
When carbohydrates are mostly eliminated, as the previous post suggests, circadian rhythms appear to adjust. This is because carbohydrates are the driver of staying up past, normal biological sleep cycles.
Also, on carnivore, the body absorbs almost everything, so trips to the bathroom are drastically reduced.
This is one part of making life less complicated. I gradually went from regular diet to ketogenic diet, to carnivore
as it is often recommended to transition slowly to allow the microbiome to adapt.

Re: Jack Kruse on Hair Growth
Thanks for your feedback, CS. How did you feel the effects of the worsening carb metabolism?
Do you also eat eggs sometimes or really just meat?
I am now in my late thirties but still can handle carbs pretty well (esp. fruit and rice, I avoid wheat etc.). For me lipoic acid, iodine and magnesium help with this.
But the "older" I get the more I lean into meat and eggs.
Pretty interesting developement. Regeneration and sleep are both still excellent.

In general eggs are a trigger for many people. I suspect due to the egg proteins that are in childhood vaccines, which cause an immune response. As for me, I'm not really an egg eater, but that said, I can tolerate dairy and eggs. So before going into carnivore, tried the keto which wasn't as smooth, and that included keto desserts.
Just a guess, but for various reasons activity level is much less so that probably played a role in making it easier to gain weight. The first two years of the C0NV!D scam_demic, especially made it a lot less convenient to exercise. So a key benefit of the carnivore diet, is that it doesn't matter how low the activity level is, plus the weather here, has been unusually cold.
