Seeking advice
What would be the best way to treat bipolar disorder using alternative therapies? Anyone's thoughts? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Carnivore diet hands down probably the most effective.
Also
Niacin therapy (research Dr. William Kaufman)

Lithium Orotate, 10 milligrams twice a day
Also niacinamide treatment with up to 2,000 mg or more per day, taken in divided doses

Re: Seeking advice
For those of us that have trouble keeping on weight how do you maintain a decent weight on the carnivore diet?

As often as I've seen carnivore videos, this question never seems to come up. I've been on carnivore for at least 6-months,
but I'm not the type that has trouble gaining weight. That said, I have heard from some people that consuming a lot of extra butter sticks seems to help but on mass.

Re: Seeking advice
I've seen quite a number of videos from people who when eating carbohydrates triggers emotional instability, similar to how some alcoholics can lose all sense of rationale. Research has shown that there is a relationship between glut-4 expression and excitotoxicity, with some studies suggesting that a decrease in glut-4 expression may contribute to excitotoxicity in certain conditions such as diabetes and alcoholism.
Some studies have found that individuals with bipolar disorder have abnormal glucose metabolism, including changes in insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in certain brain regions. So there is some indication that some individuals with bipolar disorder have changes in the expression of glucose transporters such as GLUT-4 in the brain.

Re: Seeking advice
CS,
I have noticed this recently as I have been eating more carbs/sugar lately and I have had an uptick in anxiousness.
