Dental Implants, Gum Health and Jawbone
My father has been told by numerous doctors that he needs to remove 12 teeth. Apparently the jawbone is shrinking or something.
Made me feel sad. Was there a way to prevent this? Apparently his teeth is infected. Once they are removed them they will put implants.
Is it too late to do anything else? Like supplements, mouthwash, gum gels etc to heal everything? Is jawbone shrinking related to osteoporosis? Does that even happen in men? Are there anything that can be done to regenerate the jaw bone?
And if implants are unavoidable what is the best thing to do?

Totally possible...but there are reasons this happens and knowing why is how to address the issue.
That said here's a book (best on nutrition ever) that discusses this, at least how to prevent it.
http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200251h.html
There are other issues at hand that the book does not quantify, but especially now there are a myriad of reasons for deterioration of the teeth and jawbone (think mitochondrial decay).
The basic "spoiler alert" on the best solutions in the book (it's free per the link above), besides cleaning up diet is adding in cod liver oil and pasture-fed butter.
Still, there are things happening only in the last 25 years that had taken this task of maintaining oral health much more difficult than before. Think glyphosate, drug use, antibiotics, various types of Rx, mineral depletion in food, GMO's, not to mention that many mouthwashes are actually bad for our health and will place one closer to the grave.
The germ is nothing...it's what transforms it (via the environment/terrain) that creates a pleomorphic change. Toxic environment changes the nature of the microbe, suddenly its waste product (endotoxins) are causing the depletion of ATP -- that's what causes disease. Killing germs will not solve the problem.

Aside of this,
- daily oil pulling with some sort of oil-soluble antimicrobial as peppermint and or clove oil drops.
- saltwater gargling, note that teeth are minor surface in the mouth cavity.
- use of vitamin C very high doses internally (probably 50g at this point through slow buildup) - the rationale is vitamin C prevents the inflammatory state caused by the waste products endotoxins, which deplete ascorbates in all tissues.
- prevent body producing substance p via dental splint... Grinding teeth need to be prevented.
List of germs that release endotoxins or similar is too long to mention, but there is fungal and bacterial, mostly gram-positive.
In the back of the mouth, there are tonsils which really help one being sane (assist in glymphatic system detoxification mechanics), affecting those mechanisms might help him experience an immediate benefit, which he will ''remember'' to stick with the practice.
It is never too late, but having 12 of them and jawbone loss, I can not think else than there are other conditions to be tackled at this point. As the mouth is a really very primary window for immune system maturation, I believe it is where autoimmune conditions are initiated before the gut is changed and take the full responsibility in more common view.

Thanks CS for the info, much appreciated. Thanks for the link to the book. Will take me some time to go through that, but seems there is a lot of wisdom in there.
I was buying my father krill oil supplements before. Is cod liver oil better than krill oil when it comes to dental health? However, since there are so many supplements he is taking I think he didn't take it this last year. Also because I had already read so much about mitochondrial role in health I have been buying this supplements such as Mitochondrial Biogenesis from LEF which also has PQQ. And recently have added NAD, NMN supplements too. The problem however with supplements, is it can be quite costly since there are so many things to take. Perhaps higher doses could be taken if they were cheaper.
It seems like my father is going ahead with the advice of the doctors. The natural approach which I very much prefer will take longer, and according to the dentist he needs to have his teeth sorted immediately. I am a little annoyed by it, but perhaps I can add things to his regimen to still help him.
The diet has always been a subject that I bring up as he needs to lose weight and eat more healthy.

Thanks Zaphod for your suggestion. It's good these are not expensive and definitely doable, like the oil pulling and vitamic C at high doses.
If I remember correctly Colostrum is good for dental health. Also, considering Vitamin K2 and D3. Looking for anything that can help really.

I struggle with periodontal disease. One thing that helps tremendously along with the vitamin C is alpha lipoic acid.
