My gf has been taking birth control since an early age. Prolly 15 or 16 years old. Recently she has gotten off of it completely and it has caused her to break out in acne all over. She also recently went to the doctor for a routine check up and her thyroid is not functioning properly. Everything was fine before she quit taking birth control.

Her doctor wants to get her on thyroid meds and ween off and see if it helps otherwise she wants her to take the meds forever. IF anyone has an experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't have experience but I have read about post-pill PCOS, look up Lara Briden

Is the thyroid issue autoimmune?
