Fever of unknown origin Empty Fever of unknown origin

My dad has had an intermittent fever of 99-100 degrees fahrenheit for several weeks, accompanied by chills and body pain. The doctors have run every test available (CT scans, x-rays, blood culture) and haven't found anything. Currently it looks like a chronic infection of some kind, but we still don't know exactly.

Posting here to ask about Tylenol. I'm trying to discourage him from taking it as fever is the body's natural way of combating infection.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have take 2 grams of vitamin C every 6 minutes. Probably by the time he reaches 100 grams the fever will be gone.

Would recommend *not* to use the Tylenol

What form of vitamin C?  I can't imagine taking even 10 grams total of ascorbic acid without severe intestinal distress.

When a person is sick, they can tolerate a lot more vitamin C. However, some people are sensitive to the acidic forms, so in that case, opt for a buffered form.
