Vegetable Glycerol
What is vegetable glycerol? Its an ingredient in my olive leaf extract. I didn't know it was in it when I purchased it.

Re: Vegetable Glycerol
Is "vegetable glycerol" another way of saying "vegetable oil" ?

Re: Vegetable Glycerol
It is not vegetable oil but a trihydroxyl sugar alcohol also called glycerin, glycerine or glycerol. It has numerous uses such as a sweetener, in medicines for sore throats, coughs for preserving and as a skin moisturiser. The main sources are as a by product of soap making, oil refining and bio diesel manufacture.

Thanks Photonic, I found similar info on the web, but the reason I ask is because I am wondering is it bad for hair in the same way vegetable oils are, canola oil, rapeseed etc. ?

Oh I see I don't know to be honest but I know afro caribbean ladies have been using it for years diluted in water to soften hair (sometimes with castor oil for regrowth) I guess they would have stopped long ago if a problem.

Possibly. But I suppose its all about your overall endocrine health. If it is already bad, as evidenced by hair loss, then you have to be very careful about every oil you intake. So many foods seem natural and then you read the label and find for some reason they just had to put some crap in it. Like I was thinking about getting some coconut milk powder but that is full of maltodextrin.
Anyway, thanks for answering.
