Does black pepper help absorption or delivery?
Does black pepper help absorption of vitamins and minerals and the delivery around the body or into the cells?
would it then be useful to add pepper to my protein (that includes: kefir/magnesium/potassium/chlorophyll/brewers yeast/vitamin C/iodine) shake?

Re: Does black pepper help absorption or delivery?
teacup, i came to conclusion that it's best to take meals one after another, mixing not a lot of food together. Basically i think the body has a less to process, the more effective it is. Ideally one would have all the enzymes, perfect amount of stomach acid and a right microbita in the gut to deal with complex mixtures of foods,...
The same applies to some supplements. I would not mix kefir with ascorbic acid, but i have non science to show. Also prefer salts and minerals within a supp or drink. I've read a lot about taking iodine on empty stomach, and my conclusion is - it works best if taken separate from everything else. It require balancing with minerals afterwards.
However i have no idea if black pepper is some sort of enhancer of transport into the cells. I know it can contain toxic mold. For boosting the delivery, caffeine is a good choice, so is MSM, taurine, ATP-promoting nutrition - such as AL-carnitine, brewer's yeast. Magnesium also boost transport via lipidic bilayer. And most importantly, not sitting still will provide boost to micro circulation so you will get the nutrition to where it's needed.

I second Beebrox. For what it is worth, I'm reluctant about black pepper. One of the reasons some companies add it is to increase the absorption, however this absorption is based on the blood stream. The truth is, some of the actions of some supplements (such as curcumin/resveratrol) work mostly by enzyme activation in the liver and their influence on the microbiotia, not so much the blood stream effect.

Re: Does black pepper help absorption or delivery?
from what i know yes, it helps absorption. in india they use black pepper to aid digestion in many dishes.
they use Ghee (clarified butter) for delivery (of herbs for example) into deep tissues.
