Asthma Cure - Biofilms
Interesting if anyone is suffering asthma, will be testing out a salt inhaler soon.

"An emerging body of evidence suggests that half of asthma –in both children and adults –is
associated with chronic lung infection with the atypical organisms Chlamydia pneumoniae(Cp)
and Mycoplasma pneumoniae(Mp):
• in bronchoscopic studies of lavage fluid over 50% of pediatric asthma is positive for Cp
and over 50% of adult asthma is positive for Cpand/or Mp
• in uncontrolled treatment studies pediatric and adult asthma patients had major asthma
improvement (or even complete remission) associated with microbiologic eradication
• a published pilot randomized clinical trial in adults found that azithromycin was
associated with symptomatic improvement; and 50% of treated subjects reported
clinically significant decreases in rescue medication and/or improvement in asthma
quality-of-life
• a follow up study is showing that patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma appear to
benefit most from treatment"

Re: Asthma Cure - Biofilms
Hi bobthebuilder,
I don't have typical asthma more breathing difficulty from another cause and the salt inhaler didn't help much.
If salt inhaler doesn't work well enough for you there is something called Lung Flute http://lungflute.com/ that did help me more than the salt inhaler. It's Rx in the US but can be sometimes bought on ebay from Canada and shipped to the US. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lung-Flute-for-Home-Care-by-Medical-Acoustics-14-reeds-included-/221290052719?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item3385ea3c6f
There are also cheaper versions can be bought on amazon and elsewhere but I was told from an internet review that the lungflute works a little bit better.

Very interesting device! I'd never even considered that...wish I was clever. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to make a DIY version of this. I have to imagine the physics would be the same if we got somewhat close to the correct flap material.

Re: Asthma Cure - Biofilms
I made a DIY a while ago, now my father is using it as i didnt put much mucus out of my lungs with it, although i am positive it's working well. However my dad finds it very beneficial.
I did it with similar plastics bottle as on the link below and cut a little circular hole on the bottom of it. Then i inserted a plastic paper cut inside and had been cutting it until i got as closer to the natural frequency of the shape as possible. It's very low frequency, but you know where you are getting to while blowing it. You need no holes, but it can be fun making some of those as well...
