Repairing broken Capillaries
Anybody know how to repair them externally/internally? I believe it is completely possible, but how? Anyone's advice and or experience would be highly appreciated!

Re: Repairing broken Capillaries
I have some broken capillaries on my shoulder. On one of them I applied iodine a few times a day, like in Dr Derry's paper on scar removal, and it disappeared.
I can't remember exactly how long I did it, maybe a week or two. However, I then tried applying iodine to a mole, for a few weeks and more frequently. The mole never cleared and I ended up with a large area of discolouration around it which took the best part of two years to fade. So, if anyone tries it, take it slow and not on the face or anywhere obvious.

Thanks for the reply! So does this mean that iodine supplementation is good for preventing/combatting broken capillaries?Delusional wrote:I have some broken capillaries on my shoulder. On one of them I applied iodine a few times a day, like in Dr Derry's paper on scar removal, and it disappeared.

I don't know about supplementation, only external application. Though trying it I did get the iodine headaches, so was probably indirectly supplementing.
This was the paper from David Derry on scars and iodine: http://www.thyroidscience.com/cases/Derry.Iodine.Regen.6.7.08.pdf
I don't know if it works via wounding or what. Some of the best info about it was posted by FunkyStumpFighter on here and WorldHairLoss.org, but I can't find it right now. Worth digging up though.
Just make sure to practice on somewhere you can cover up, in case you get any discolouration.

Re: Repairing broken Capillaries
The post I was thinking of was this one: http://www.worldhairloss.org/index.php/forums/viewthread/510/#4262
The basic gist is to apply iodine (Lugol's works, potassium iodide might too) a couple of times a day and continue as it scabs up for a few days or weeks. It'll probably get a little sore. Some have suggested dermaneedling to enhance absorption, but I never tried.
The Funky chap never seemed to report much success using it for hair loss, so I assume it wasn't terribly effective for that.
