PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Hi,
I've just received from iherb PM PhytoGen Complex (Solgar) and, for a young friend experiencing hairloss, Beta-Sitosterol Plant Sterols (Now Foods).
The dosage of Pueraria mirifica for 1 tablet is 80 mg (Miroestrom 16 mcg). How many tablets a day should I take?
The dosage of Beat-Sitosterol for 2 Vcaps is 392 mg. How many Vcaps a day should my friend take?
Thanks to all of you!

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Malik - Just one tablet per day of PM Phytogen, and as for the Beta-Sitosterol, just a single tablet (half the dose) twice per day; morning & evening.

Petch - Yes, I'm pretty sure it would be. There's a formula called Super Zix which contains Beta-Sitosterol (liquid form) for the scalp.
Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Thanks IH. I'll tell you how I'm doing with PM Kudzu.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm currently using it in the 'Hair signals' product from Dr Pickart, also has tea extracts, copper peptides, pygeum and lavender in it, I feel it's helping grow some hair on the temples, very fine downy hair, but hair nonetheless.
Regards, Petch

What is Beta-Sitosterol and how does it benefit along side PM Kudzu?

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
youngbalder - Beta-Sitosterol is a plant wax or plant like cholesterol. It's classified as phytosterol. It is the primary active ingredient in saw palmetto responsible for the blocking of DHT. It's ther "herbal equivalent" of finasteride and it can come with similar side-effects.
Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Caustic Symmetry- Caustic thanks for clarifying that for me. I restarted ainterol 500mg every other day to my regimen. Do you think i would get the same effect as if i were to take a dosage like minimum which is 80mg per day? I also take Now foods Maca capsules (3grams per day) do you think that is enough seeing that i have started ainterol again?

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
youngbalder - I'm not sure, there's still a lot of unknowns about it and we are a relatively small group of people who are experimenting with it. So you'll have to rely on trial and error. My guess is a steady, daily stream of an amount between 250 mg to 500 mg is probably best. By the 80 amount are you referring to the standardized version by Solgar that gives a certain about of miroestrol per dose?
Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
To users of PM
I used PM (Solgar) for a week and it gave me a tremendous pain on my stomach. Is it normal? I know that sometimes the body needs to get used to a new supplement but this time I had to stop it as it was really weird. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Malik - If I remember correctly Gibson reported the same thing. So this is not an isolated incident.
Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Caustic- Correct i was talking about the standardized 80 mg. I figured since i dont want to over do it and be precautios, i will take 1x500mg every other day to start and play it safe. I figured 500mg every other day would be overkill.

I didn't know that Gibson had the same symptoms with PM. I'm curious to know if he's back on it and if anyone guesses why PM would give cramps.

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
youngbalder - Also I'm not sure on the Solgar version either which is 80 milligrams. If anyone has used this regularly let us know.
Malik - I think Gibson tried it twice and confirmed it was the cause of the stomach pain. If he sees this thread he can clarify it better.

If I remember correctly Gibs was receiving cramps from ainterol not solgar, though I could be wrong.

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
With 112Degrees.com's product, I'll sometimes feel nauseated if I take it with other pills on an empty stomach. That doesn't just have PM in it though...never had this issue with Ainterol's product.
Young--
Try Ainterol @ one 500mg tab a day for a month or two and see if you notice any sides. If so, drop down to every other day again.

I'm also going to be taking the 500 mg pill. Should I take half pill a day?

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
Swimmy - Yes, a half a pill is a good start see how that goes.
julien 1200 - Pueraria Mirifica supplies Miroestrol which is a natural molecule almost identical to estriol, which is known as the "good" estrogen. This will help displace some androgens and more potent, undesirable estrogens.

Regarding Pueraria mirifica for hair loss
Don't take more then 1 pill a day or you may experience some breast growth even for men! I sell ainterol's products but they are too strong to take 2 a day to combat hair loss take just 1 a day. You can get the extract and mix it with your favorite shampoo and take 1 pill a day without worries. Also its a good idea to add maca and butea sup-erba to the regimin to help prevent any unwanted side effects. Here is what I recommend - 1 ainterol pueraria mirifica pill in the morning - 1 ainterol butea superba at night - take maca as recommended depending on what brand you by. Optionally you can get ainterol's pueraria mirifica extract and mix that in your favorite shampoo. Also there are many other great suggestions here on hair loss - some may work for you while others work for others. I think adding pueraria mirifica to the regimin is probably one of the most effective ways to help with hair loss as I use it myself for just that reason. Also I used to be 80% gray haired now I am about 20% gray haired which I didn't expect and my skin looks a heck of alot younger also.

Re: PM Kudzu and Beta-sitosterol
RobHealthMan - Saw Palmetto/Beta Sitosterol inhibit both type 1 and 2 forms of 5 alpha-reductase.
Type I is found mostly in the skin, type II mostly in the prostate.

Just came across this thread. I had stomach problems from both. Initially, it was from Ainterol's. Then I picked up Solgar, and the problem persisted. I can say without hesitation, or doubt, that it was from PM. Haven't a clue why. The pain became so severe that as soon as i felt the pain coming on after I took Solgar, i made myself vomit to get it out of my stomach. When i first started taking it, no problem, but it built up. It felt like it was eating away the lining of my stomach, like I was getting an ulcer. This is a guess, as i have never really had stomach problems, not even indigestion.
