Beta Sitosterol Dosage
Does anyone have any idea as to what dosage of Beta-sis would most mimic finasteride?
I am aware that the focus on this board is not on DHT suppression but I just got off of dutasteride and I am looking for something to somewhat mimic it.

Re: Beta Sitosterol Dosage
halfempty - I've tried various dosages of beta sitosterol over the years before I gave it up.
However, there is a difference in how they suppressing 5-AR.
Beta Sitosterol inhibits absorption of dietary cholesterol, which is needed to make all steroid hormones. So if you take too much you're going to get similar side effects, except that the effect will ware off faster than dutasteride or finasteride.
Have you thought about or tried topical beta-sitosterol?
Internally, would avoid anything above 150 mg twice per day.
Sadly, many people are taking this to lower their cholesterol--little do they know how important this is to the body.

Re: Beta Sitosterol Dosage
Thanks Caustic,
Yeah I have thought about the topical beta-sis but I have had bad experiences with topicals. For some reason they cause bad, painful inflammation.. even alcohol free ones from Elsom research. Maybe I will give it a try again, though.
Thanks man.

halfempty - I've had mixed results myself with topicals, but frankly hate using them, because they are a bit of a pain to use.
Ultimately, inflammation is detoxification and topicals may do little to address it, especially systemically.
