Hives like rash on cheekbones
Hey guys. My wife who has always suffered from some eczema usually on her lower legs/calves broke out in a hives like rash under her eyes on her cheekbones. She's had touches of this before but never this extreme. I'm wondering what we should to get her some relief since I want to avoid her having making a trip to a derm over this and being prescribed drugs.
One of things I know to try is a mixture of oregano oil to olive oil. 25 to 1 olive oil to oregano oil. Does that sound like a good plan? Should be taking anything internally. Even oregano oil internally?
Supplement wise she takes 2000 IU D-3, Ecklonia Cava extract, a couple of drops of Iosol iodine, hyaluronic acid each day. She basically is taking everything on the list CS posted on Healthy Fixx as wrinkle prevention.
I was wondering if the Iosol drops could have caused this breakout. I don't know if it's bromide coming out causing it. I'm gonna make her salt flush before she restarts the Iosol.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. She suffers from a lot of allergies. Benadryl has helped bring the hives down but we want to come up with a long term natural plan to get this under control before she goes to a derm and gets cortisone creams/etc.

Re: Hives like rash on cheekbones
hadrion - It might be a result of the iodine pulling things out. However, since she has a history of eczema, she might benefit from vitamin A (not beta carotene). If that isn't quite enough, zinc also may help, that is if it's a histamine problem more so.
Zinc is often low in those who suffer from allergies. Zinc can help prevent the histamine effect. For the fastest relief, most likely quercetin would offer the quickest relief. A little trial and error will help narrow down the culprit.

Thanks CS. I have the vitamin A you linked me to and it's what I take so I'll start her on that.
Can you recommend a form of Zinc that would be effective? I wouldn't be surprised if she were low in it. Also any suggestion for a good brand for Quercetin would be appreciated. I usually get the NOW brands off iherb if those are okay.
She takes a prescription allergy pill called XYZAL but it did not help here. I really want to help her get to the bottom of the allergy mystery especially since it erupted in these hives on her face.

I think visiting the dermatologist for a proper diagnosis would be a good idea.
Lupus erythematosus is an 'autoimmune' condition which often manifests itself as a symmetric rash below the eyes.

It's not a butterfly rash. It's more triggered from scratching, touching the area. When she lays on her face on the pillow it would get worse. It also responded to benadryl. She has a derm we go to who diagnosed her with eczema but they usually prescribe steroids and anti-biotics when she has an outbreak.

hadrion - The following article explains zinc and allergies.

Thanks CS. I gave her 20,000 IU of Vitamin A (not beta carotene) and there was improvement w/in an hour. I'm gonna give her some high dose C and run out and get the Cold Eeez and see how it goes. It's already much better than it was. She said the Vitamin A knocked out the itching/burning feeling the hives had. I guess that's a good sign.

for long-term can mercury detox.
Mercury beyond hives connection also uses up vitamin A, zinc... among others.

She's had root canals for a long time. Her mother let a dentist give her one as a child. Is it safe to do a mercury detox with the root canals present?

Re: Hives like rash on cheekbones
I've never heard of any info mercury chelation being bad with root canals.
If she still has mercury amalgams then it may not be a a good idea depending on what's being used to chelate the mercury.

Thanks rdkml. She has no mercury fillings. I'm gonna get her started on some humulfivate & modified citrus pectin with me.
The Vitamins A, C and Cold Eeez have made the swelling go down. It's gone from red/raised to pinkish/normal. The itching and burning has gone away. A major difference from 48 hours ago.
I appreciate the help guys.
