Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
CS - Thanks for awesome info With regards to dietary calcium, I take it that getting adequate amounts is secondary to its co-factors, but still necessary. I remember a study that showed higher increases of calcium(without co-factors) made osteoporosis worse, but lower levels helped more then no dietary calcium.
If one is taking plenty of the co-factor needed and is getting an abundance of dietary calcium, will the body just utilised it? Or could it be detrimental in anyway?

From what I understand, provided there is sufficient hydrochloric acid or other factors (essential fatty acids diffuse calcium), also vitamin C is very effective at handling hardened calcium and dissolving it back into solution, also magnesium.
Should be fine.

Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
Cs/others,
can you explain how teeth can regenerate (i.e remineralize?). How come chipped or broken off teeth can't do this? Or are you just suggesting that the minerals will "fill in" the cavities and that the actual tooth has no regenerative qualities of its own? If this is the case, why don't they make a composite for dentists to use that consist of minerals with a binding agent? What the hell is in the white composite stuff they use now?

Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
magic_gro,
How are your teeth now?
Here's some of my experience , perhaps someone will find it helpful.
I've had bad teeth since my teen years, i brushed but cavities kept coming. I had multiple baby teeth pulled as a teen. Now, cavities are still an issue, and over the last few months i have had a 3-4 tiny chipped teeth (corners of tooth) and it's freaking me out.
I eat a lot of coconut oil, take D3 + K2 twice a day, about 4g vit C, 2 different B-complex synthetic and natural, ala, krill oil 500mg/day, cucrumin, biotin 5mg, choline, inositol, taurine, magnesium citrate and sometimes i use mag oil topically on skin, at least 12.5mg iodine a day, vitamin E 400IU, A 10,000 IU/day..
Since I saw no visible improvement on the teeth front, I recently am started taking HCl with meals (to increase absorption of minerals) and I bought an Ascorbate minerals supplement, CoQ10, magnesium potassium supplement every other day, and put a couple drops of concentrace per gallon of water. I am also just ordered Decalcify and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I also finally quit coffee and switched to green and white teas. I eat about 1 banana a day. I almost never eat tough things (nuts, carrots).. Eager to see if I can stop and reverse cavities.
The idea of using oil pulling, or something like this with essential oils http://www.sunfood.com/gum-joy-oil.html is interesting. I have heard of people using the Theives essential oil and claim that teeth hardened (and bacteria killed) .. But with essential oils I worry about their acidity, i tested a few and found them acidic and i'd hate to put something acidic on my teeth and leave it for an extended time. Anyone here benefit from essential oils?
My last chipped tooth was 3 days ago
I suspect that i have adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid and possibly pre-diabetic (all self diagnosis) and these all as i understand are not teeth friendly.
Oh, and it seems I grind my teeth at night, i have woken up with my teeth clenched real hard.. i suspect my chipping might be happening at night!
I brush at night with Celtic salt and in the morning with a fluoride and sls free paste. Would using magnesium oil brine to brush with a good idea?
I still yet to try oil pulling, i think it might kill the bacteria and harden teeth.
Maybe what i'm missing is boron and strontium darn teeth

Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
This thread is a bit dated.
The most important factor in stopping the process degeneration
is addressing the fluid flow of the teeth.
If the phosphorus levels plummets below 3.5 (it does not matter what is taken),
the fluid flow back flow into degeneration.
In theory regeneration requires a phosphorous level above 3.5
This is not controlled by dietary phosphorous, but by the endocrine system.
If there is compromise in the delivery of insulin, a metabolic problem,
A methodology behind this is written in "Cure Tooth Decay"

Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
Thank you for the heads up...
If one sets out to correct fluid flow, what would you recommend looking at (you mentioned "curing tooth decay", anything else)?
Is there a way to keep fruits on the menu without compromising phosphate levels? (I'm from Northern Europe and am a carb type according to the test you post a lot, if that matters)
I'm taking your suggested D3/Mag/K2(MK4) combo along with regular salt water rinses and brushing with only baking soda, the only other suggestion I've seen you make in relation to teeth is calciumtherapy, would you recommend ordering from them?
Thanks again.

Re: supplements for cavities, CS?
I've got some theories on this.
Any compromise of insulin sensitivity cripples (stalls) the parotid gland.
In turn this cause a back up in the flow...
I wrote an article about this, but first here are some targets to consider.
If one falls outside of these numbers (they are considered optimal), significantly
outside of these numbers there is risk of a fluid flow reversal.
Phosphorous 4.0 - Ideal (at least 3.6)
Fasting Glucose 75 Ideal (at least 85)
Cholesterol 222 Ideal (preferably above 200)
Triglycerides < 100 (a 100 or less). "Normal" ranges typically are at 150.
Further, I am quite convinced that sulfur is a necessary nutrient (typically devoid in adequate quantities
in most agriculture, including organic). In order to prevent metabolic chaos, adequate levels are necessary.
If one is not eating adequate quantities of foods that contain sulfur-bearing amino acids (cysteine and methionine),
and they are largely eating fruits and vegetables (not grown on sulfur fertile soil), they are in trouble.
When fruit, or any type of sugar is consumed, it will affect triglycerides....it's a huge tip off on how well you can handle your diet.
Here are two articles (one written by me) and the other written by someone else (interestingly, I think the 2nd link is a virtual copy of mine). However, thought I would post it anyway.

The problem with garlic is breath. To the contrary of garlic, eating pure sulfur will provide perfect breath.ghai018 wrote:So a good idea to eat garlic regularly?
Even on some nights when I take a dive into some good tasting junk food, I will still wake up with zero bad breath.
The reason is the MSM powder I take twice per day, morning and afternoon.
