My current regimen - Feedback please....
Hello everyone,
I have been visiting this forum for quite some time and have read a lot over this past year. I am in the process of buying new supplements in order to curb the following:
- Control my hair loss
- Control my stress/anxiety levels
- Reducing the effects of smoking, or at least help me stop (smoke a pack once a week)
- Help reduce the effects of drinking (socially drink on the weekends)
My current regimen so far is:
- Vitamin B Complex by Thorne Research
- Krill Oil by Now
- R-lipoic Acid by Doctor's Best
- Chlorella powder by Cloressence
- Toco-sorb by Jarrow Formulas
- K2 with Vitamin D3 by Inno-vitae (2 X a week) - this is in liquid form.
All of these I take first thing in the morning and I have found them to be very helpful in controlling my hair loss. I still lose some hair but it looks like I am maintaining a good portion of it. I want to point out that I did take both curcumin 95 along with resveratrol together but I have since dropped both of them because I feared that I was losing my hair when I was on them.
At this point, am I missing anything that would help stabilize my hair loss even further and help control the other three items on my list.....
I have researched further on this forum and in the process of adding the following:
- Ecklonia Cava by Nutricology
- PureWay-C by Doctor's Best
- Vitamin E Complex by Country Life
- Magnesium Orotate
Would these items be of added value to my current regimen?
I have to also mention that I am from Canada and so most of the products recommended here reside in US. I was wondering if there are some equivalent products that I can purchase instead of getting my supplements over the border.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated especially from the top posters here. Thanks and have a great night everyone.

Re: My current regimen - Feedback please....
I would dump the Vitamin E complex and get curcumin / reseveratrol combo.

AntioxidantsIsGood - The additions look good, also consider green tea extract for the histamine factor.
For smoking try Sulfinol

Re: My current regimen - Feedback please....
@scottyc33 - Thanks for the reply. I wanted to know if Toco-Sorb is the same as Vitamin E Complex. If so, could I drop the toco-sorb and take the Vitamin E Complex?
@CS - Thank you also for the reply. I will look into the green tea extract and the Sulfinol.
I wanted to see if someone can comment on the actual ingredients for these products that I am looking at:
For Vitamin E Complex (If I can replace Toco-sorb)
From Now - http://www.nationalnutrition.ca/detail.aspx?ID=2430
From AOR - http://www.nationalnutrition.ca/detail.aspx?ID=1854
For Magnesium Orotate
From AOR - http://www.nationalnutrition.ca/detail.aspx?ID=3131 (I looked at the label at my health food store and it stated that orotate is "pharmaceutical synthesized"). Does this type of magnesium come in a natural form?
For Resveratrol/Curcumin
http://www.nationalnutrition.ca/detail.aspx?ID=3807 (this product contains Japanese Knotweed Extract which is a good thing)
http://www.nationalnutrition.ca/detail.aspx?ID=4182
I apologize for giving a big list, and I know that most of the products recommended on here are US based. I just wanted to cut some of my expenses if the above products are worthy of purchasing.
Also, I must mention that I have an awful lot of grey hairs for a 30 year old. I know it must be a sign of my stress and anxiety levels so would the regimen at least prevent future grey hairs...
Thanks once again....

"compounds in Sulfonil bind to nicotine cell receptor sites, preventing nicotine from attaching"
Besides lowering the desire to smoke would this have a health effect/make smoking "healthier"?

@pancake - Thanks for the reply. I will definitely take a good look at the site you mentioned.
I recently read that despite taking these supplements I mentioned, it would be more effective if I did an internal cleanse. So my question is this: What type of cleanse should I do in my situation? And what are the necessary things required to do this cleanse? i.e. any herbal pills to take, eat only specific food, etc.
- I occasionally drink on the weekends, I smoke cigarettes one pack a week but my diet is relatively good in that I try to eat fruits and whole foods with little meat.
Thank you.
