Question about Ecklonia cava
If one takes Ecklonia Cava and experiences increased hair shedding and increased libido, is this a good thing?

Re: Question about Ecklonia cava
Are you taking Ecklonia Cava, or are you taking FibroBoost?

Re: Question about Ecklonia cava
steve215--
Look at the stickied post at the top of the forum--that is the brand that CS now recommends. What you're taking is only 13% Ecklonia Cava, and 87% of ??? Not sure what, but probably what you're getting a reaction to similar to resveratrol 50% that has 50% pure resveratrol, and 50% random other things (like emodin, a diarhetic).

Re: Question about Ecklonia cava
steve215 - Shedding is nearly impossible to determine, because there are many factors behind it, at least without a lot of self analysis. Factors and co-factors related to food and other variables, quality of sleep, hormones, metabolic activity, seasonal tendency, emotional response, etc.
I can tell you that Ecklonia cava (regardless of where you get it from) is not associated with shedding.
However, even if something appears to cause shedding, it is not always bad.
For example, some hair will transition from Telogen phase (resting stage) until hair follicle re-enters the Anagen phase (growth stage). Or, it will enter into the exogen stage (it falls out before invagination from dermal papilla into new hairs) for the anagen phase.
If hair cycles are altered, it can very well initialize an exogen stage (precipitates new anagen hairs).
The only true way to assess a deleterious action of a substance for hair is chronic shedding. This is difficult to determine due to the obvious emotional response of shedding lots of hair.
Myself and virtually everyone has gone through either seasonal, transient or occasional (mysterious) shedding for short periods of time and the cause is very difficult to determine.
It is safe for me to say that I have received a thousand questions on this topic alone and I have heard all kinds of theories, from short to long term. All research points to virtually incalculable variables to hair cycling.
