Alpha lipoic acid and estrogen metabolism

I was wondering if ALA had any affect on estrogen metabolism since it is a powerful liver detoxer. Does it induce the P450 system like DIM/I3C?

baller234 - LA is a non selective inhibitor of NADPH-cytochrome-P450 reductase.
LA protects against free-radical generating metals and increases glutathoine, this is one of it's main mechanisms. One of the very best liver tonics around.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly does that mean? If it's an inhibitor of p450 does that mean it slows estrogen metabolism down?

Lipoic acid reduces the oxidation of catechol estrogen metabolites into quinones.
The 2-OH and 4-OH metabolites (catechol estrogens) are
readily oxidized to quinones, which are highly reactive and can
damage DNA and promote carcinogenesis via free radicals.
So LA plays at least a minor role in estrogen metabolism.
