Does alpha lipoic acid effect the thyroid? I've read that it can be bad for people with hypothyroidism but am unsure as to how it it effects the thyroid. Also what about DIM? It's derived from goitrogenic vegetables but I'm unclear as to whether or not DIM itself is goitrogenic. I'm currently taking both supplements.

baller234 - First this has only been shown when taking in conjuction with synthetic T4 which is detrimental to T3 function anyway (because it depletes iodine levels).

2nd, this study was performed on animals, not humans.

On DIM, iodine supplementation prevents the goitrogenic effects.
