Carbonated Water. Empty Carbonated Water.

Is there any disadvantage of subsituting carbonated (Sparkling/Fizzy) water for ordinary drinking water?. I've grown fond of drinking carbonated water now as it tends to fill me up. I also tend to drink more because I like the taste. But, I'm worried that constant exposure might be detrimental to my health, especially my teeth. Could carbonated water damage my teeth or any other aspect of my health?.

Thanks.

I've heard that it's not advisable to drink this kind of water, if it's a big no-no or just some theory without evidence...I wouldn't know. I also heard that the water should be "fresh" but room temperated, not sure if this is science or hogwash!
