Sadly, one of my teeth has a huge cavity and cannot be saved.  It is the third molar from the back on the top right side.  What is the safest and healthiest course of action from here?

One could try a watch and wait approach, using vitamin K2 rich butter (pastured-fed butter), 20 minutes a day of coconut oil pulling (anytime during the day). Vitamin D to boost calcium uptake.

Note: Just in case, SSRI's block acetylcholine (which causes dry mouth and increases cavities)

Thanks CS.  That's actually the approach I had been taking for quite a while, but unfortunately, it appears that I waited too long to get professional help.  I've had this cavity for over a year.  A few months ago, the side of my mouth swelled up, but I managed to calm it down by coconut oil pulling, swishing with hydrogen peroxide, and eating raw garlic.  Still, I avoided the dentist.

However, it reached some sort of threshold a few days ago, and I'm in terrible pain.  The tooth hurts constantly, I have a terrible headache, and I have unpleasant sensations spreading into my right eye, ear, nostril, and cheek.  I feel very ill.  I guess the pulp is infected?  Would Ozone therapy be able to reverse it at this point?

I have a cavity in one of my molars and was experiencing horrible pain. I didn't realize, but there was some rotting waste matter - from food - inside the cavity, and when I scraped all the crap out, the toothache went away and hasn't returned.

Every time I have a meal I make sure to then brush, and to use my dental scraper to prevent any crap building up and infecting the pulp.

Interesting, how did you get the food out? And how long have you had the cavity? I've lost count but I've probably had mine for a couple of years now. I've been pretty effective at controlling the pain, but it's slowly gotten worse and worse over time.

I've had the cavity for a few years now, but it never became a problem until recently. I tried all different remedies to get rid of the persistent toothache, and it became so problematic that I was actually just going to try pull the tooth out myself. However, I had a dental kit at hand, so decided to use one of those hooked scrapers to see if there was anything inside the cavity, and sure enough I start digging out waste food matter from deep inside. This sure did the trick because the toothache never returned. From this I'm assuming that toothbrushing alone doesn't always do the trick in removing built up waste from deep inside the cavity, and sometimes something as simple as one of those hooked scrapers works perfectly. I just threw that out there for you in case you've not yet tried it. It might be something as simple as rotting food waste causing you all of these problems.

This is what I used: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61VdQRVcNkL._SY355_.jpg

That's a pretty amazing story, thanks for sharing!  I do have one of those dental scrapers, but unfortunately it looks my situation won't be quite as easy to fix. I took a close look inside my mouth today and my gums around the affected tooth are very swollen and bright red.  Seems like an abscessed tooth.  The pain is radiating through my jaw.  So game over then?

Is there any way to save an abscessed tooth?  Crying or Very sad

I don't know, man. If you can control the pain, then maybe follow CS advice - with a watch and wait approach. I'm presently looking into ways to try regenerate my own cavitated tooth. It hasn't troubled me for a while, but will probably get worse due to occasional sugar consumption.

Well the entire jawbone on the top right side is infected now... it's pretty bad. Granted, this happened to me once in November too, but after oil pulling, hydrogen peroxide, and raw garlic, the swelling went away in a few days. But this time, it's much worse, and the natural treatments seem to have little effect. I think I'm in big trouble now. I never managed to cut out dairy, sugar, and grains out of my diet completely, and now I'm paying the price. Sad

Had to go to Urgent Care today. They put me on a 10-day cycle of clindamyacin. Neutral

When I've had inflamed gums. I've swished my mouth with coconut oil mixed with a few drops of Oil of Oregano. Its spicy hot but seemed to do the trick.

I've also read about some stuff called "Tooth Mousse" that can help remineralize teeth.
Also Vitamin K2 (MK4 version) and magnesium have helped people.

Also this place. https://www.calciumtherapy.com/ (I think I read about it from a post on here somewhere)

Hope this helps! :-)

I mentioned https://www.calciumtherapy.com/ in the other thread on this topic. It really does work.
whether it will neutralize the infection in the cavity is difficult to say for certain, but it can happen.

Fusobacteria is one of the primary targets of calcium therapy. When a cavity is forming, the gums are inflamed, revealing that an infection is taking place. Would use this as part of the watch and wait (along with coconut oil pulling if desired).

Good call on the Calcium Therapy guys.  So I was taking a look at their website, and they have all sorts of products listed here:

https://www.calciumtherapy.com/order-calcium-materials/

Seems like the Homecare Kit is a good bet (toothbrush, mouth rinse, chips, lotion), and it's inexpensive to boot.  There's also the Calcium Carpules - should I order those too?  How long should this be used?
