Dermaroller Method
Who is derma rolling and what have you experienced? Ever since 2young, there has been a lot of uproar about derma rolling.

Re: Dermaroller Method
For what it is worth, I'll start. I have started at a .75mm, moved to a 1mm, then eventually a 1.5. It has been on and off but I feel it helps with bloodflow, scalp flexibility, breathability, itching, etc.
Going to try once every 3 weeks or so.

Re: Dermaroller Method
Done it a few times... sometimes with a 0.5 mm which makes the scalp nice and red. Sometimes with a 1.5 mm where the scalp gets blood specks.
But I'm just not sure what long term effects would be of consistently damaging the same patch of skin over and over again would be and can't find any good info. I imagine there's a tipping point where it can become detrimental but I'm not sure what the sweet spot is in terms of frequency and mm size. It's on the backburner for the moment until I can find out more.
(Gut feel... once every 1-2 weeks with 0.5 mm fine / once per month with 1.5 mm prob ok. But that's largely guesswork.)

Re: Dermaroller Method
I´ve done it for about one year. Gained some vellus and lost some terminals. But I may have done it wrong, by overdoing it - initially, I was doing it once a week; then I moved for once every 3 weeks; finally, I realized that internal anti-inflammatories counteract tha action of the dermaroller.

Re: Dermaroller Method
My scalp just feels great after doing it. It is sore but in the "right" way if that makes any sense. Brings more bloodflow and feeling back in for me which makes it feel "alive". Hopefully it is a good step in the right direction.

Re: Dermaroller Method
I'm going to start on this again tonight after having checked out the info that 2y2r provided over at stopaga.
plan is 1.5mm derma roll once every 10 days.
I think the key is going very hard on the scalp, almost using the roller as a stamp. The pain is what made me discontinue the last time but I just have to man up. I think getting your scalp to bleed is required, maybe not in the first sessions but in the 3rd/4th.
I'll be combining it with DT, but will obviously wait 24-36hrs post roll before DTing.
If I can bear the pain and keep up the consistency then I will keep you guys in the loop, If not then I will keep going with DT and nothing else.

if you butcher your scalp, something has got to give and some changes will happen
I simply don't like it, hurts too much for most people. supplements are easier.
too unscientific too

It has been on and off. My old one got dirty beyond repair and I stopped for a while. Just bought a new one and picked it up.Jay07 wrote:Growdamnit wrote:Who is derma rolling and what have you experienced? Ever since 2young, there has been a lot of uproar about derma rolling.

Surprise, surprise... Complexx is on that thread also - under the screen name beliefiskey. I wouldn't be surprised if that guy butchered his scalp on the say so of Complexx.
ETA: So predictable of Complexx / beliefiskey... "Lol it has never helped anyone? THIS THREAD IS ABOUT INCREASED WOUNDING/BLOOD FLOW & CREATING NEW VASCULARITY LOL. For the last couple of decades it's all been about DHT, NOTHING ELSE. This thread, as well as OTHER blood flow threads, are producing the best results anybody has ever seen.... EVER lol. There are also two studies that wipe out your old prehistoric quack theories & validate the blood flow theory."
Increased wounding and bloodflow indeed, that poor fuck's scalp is producing rivers of blood.

Re: Dermaroller Method
For re-vascularisation (amongst other things) LLLT is my preference, more sustainable, less chance of issues over the long term, and less hurty
(though I am fair confident rolling will also do the same... I have to prick my diabetic cats ear with lance quite regularly... you can see the vascular regrowth in her ear -- I shine a light to see the vein. Plus her ear bleeds more easily each time, suggesting greater blood supply)

Re: Dermaroller Method
Thats interesting Columbo. If you follow the view that vascularisation=increase in oxygenation=negation of negative effects of DHT then you should get hair regrowth.
I've seen enough evidence of this on other websites to convince me that this could be a winner. I just think most people fail because they are not willing/able to go to the extent of drawing the amount of blood required.
[/url]
And for those who get queasy looking at the red stuff, this method is used by professionals who draw as much, if not more, blood from peoples faces. Safe to say I think its alright.

Ah, but to play Devil's advocate, those same professionals also prescribed Propecia.
