gelatine is missing / or glycine/lysine combo can mimic gelatine
silica is missing
zinc/selenium missing
vitamin a - get a better one. or just a topical one
folic acid - cut it out completely. stay with the b complex. synthetic version causes problems
coconut oil - excellent
immune boost - good
decalcify - excellent
lipoic acid - excellent
carnitine - good
msm - good
iosol - good
electrolytes - good
b complex - good
vitamin c - good
krill - if it works for you , use it. works for some people. maybe cut it out and stick with coconut oil
ecklonia cava - good

gelatine or lysine/glycine/taurine to mimic it
protein powders are high in cysteine, methionine and tryptohpan (all bad), and PUFAs and phytic acid
Pea, - why eat raw pea powder ? does nothing for you.
hemp, - another inedible seed high in PUFA
SaviSeed - no idea what this is
and flax proteins - extremely high in PUFA . avoid.

no protein powder at all
just gelatine powder would do
they are just powdered nuts/seeds/grains that are inedible
you want gelatine
(lysine,proline,glycine,taurine etc)
not flesh/protein powders
(cysteine, methionine, tryptophan)

Re: What supplements am I missing?
beta sitosterol - a questionable supplement that I perhaps should not reccomend ? It's open to debate, if you believe the DHT theory, this would be the best thing. I think it's good, but goes against the alternative theories of hair loss
but I am keeping an open mind

gelatine powder is better by great lakes
just look at the ingredients in vegan protein powders.
inedible, rancid, phytic acid, pufa laden seeds and nuts
avoid

I'm trying, but you are fairly prolific.

I sometimes supplement with soy protein from Honeyville. Terrific product for the money, especially for a vegan. 44lbs for $190 shipped. The research doesn't show soy protein to be estrogenic, neither does my personal experience.

If you do supplement with silica, remember a little bit goes a long way. I personally no longer go above 10mg daily. I like G5 silicium organique for bioavailability.
As for hydrolyzed collagen, I've experimented with it for two years and derived more benefit from supplementing with glycine/lysine/proline. Also you should give bone broth a try. It's really easy to make and quite tasty.

No selenium to complement your iodine?
I use this one, it's very good:

Also, a b complex might be good too?
I use this one:

Of the gelatin they are talking about, this is best, it's hydrolyzed, and thus partly pre-digested, and also dissolved in cold water:

Great Lakes is better and more effective than Dr. Friedlander's without even factoring the price. I've used both extensively.
I've also moved away from inorganic iodine and started chomping down on seaweed.

Re: What supplements am I missing?
There is a supplement called Nature's Life Zinc Picolinate that is perfectly balanced with copper, so that the added Zinc is not an issue. It is also very cheap when ordered on amazon. I think I got 250 caps of 30mg 2mg copper for not much more than 10 bucks. Use this especially if you're going the DHT reducing route. I read that when DHT is reduced, testosterone begins taking more of the load in maintaining processes DHT once did, so you're going to want to make sure you're giving your body the nutrients it needs to produce the most test.
After reducing DHT, and supplementing 90mg daily of this I felt like I was back in middle school. Would get random hardons throughout the day and no-fap became a distant memory.
Listen to iuyy when he talks about beta sis because out of all the natural supps this one is likely going to be the strongest effect on your hair, but probably not your health. Treat beta sis as if you were hopping on finasteride so don't take the decision lightly but if you have mpb itch you likely need to handle your DHT... use search function, beta sis is talked about a lot in the past but has mostly gone forgotten now that DHT inhibition is viewed as an old, and risky method of stopping hair loss.
If you don't want to go down this route now, I suggest doing the research anyway and choosing a point on your head and say to yourself 'if my hairline recedes to -here-, then I'm inhibiting DHT no matter what'. If I had done that to myself, I wouldn't be playing catch up like I am now. Anyway, just my opinion and thoughts, even though I know most will disagree with it here.

Re: What supplements am I missing?
Well, guys, I'm a vegan so I have to work with that. Thanks for the silica supplement link
EDIT: And for what it is worth, I can't remember the last time my scalp itched. I'm really, REALLY reluctant to try Beta Sis. Very scared about anything that could fuck me up long term.

If you don't have an itch stay away from DHT inhibition in my opinion. Also, I thought you were maintaining your NW1.5-2 hairline anyway? I'm just giving advice when/if mpb truly kicks in for you.

Re: What supplements am I missing?
I think this regimen will surely give you results if your diet is okay and you stick with it - the key to success is patience and consistency. I tried powerful DHT blockers and all they do is maintain what you have and fyi I am one of the diffuse thinners which are suppose to be best responders to treatments.

I said it may not work for everyone
and that it isn't the solution to thyroid problems
It works for some people.
other people need to deplete their body of pufa and avoid nuts/seeds/grains/legums/avocados and olives to help the thyroid

I think coconut oil/grass fed butter combo is the best for the thyroid.
and yes, I have tried the iodine/selenium/ tyrosine - this isn't the solution for some people. for some it will be

Re: What supplements am I missing?
I'd like to grow all of my hair back anyway. I don't want mpb to ever kick in for me which is why I'm on this forum. I am dedicating too much time to let this thing take over.SonofOdin wrote:If you don't have an itch stay away from DHT inhibition in my opinion. Re: What supplements am I missing?
I can't edit my last post so sorry for the bump.
For what it's worth, since this original post, I have switched out my Vitamin A for a better source, switched to Black Currant Oil in lieu of Krill Oil. I have added Ashwaganda and Selenium.

Will definitely see to it. Related question: Would I benefit the same from a carrot if it were in a juice?
