I'm trying to make my own toothpaste and would like to use baking soda but I read it can thin out the enamel?

Anyone have any experience with brushing with baking soda?

Baking soda can be abrasive. I would rather use the "arm and hammer" baking soda tooth pastes you can buy in stores. The baking soda is ground so fine you can hardly tell it's there...except for the taste (bleh).

Baking soda is easily dissolved in water. Take a few moments to dissolve it completely and you are ready to go. The same applies to other water soluble substances as xylitol, vitamin c (acidic!), salt, but not all other ingredients. If brushing with crystals, enamel will go.
