Brushing seeming to help up top but making my sides (not temples, actual sides) more thin? Ideas?
I thought all hairloss was essentially coming from the same mechanism. Why would brushing make hair on the sides more thin? I don't know, maybe it's a shed..
I don't know how much it's helping on my hairline, but I don't think it's making it more thin..

sounds like a shed. did you shed on top? what's your brushing/overall regimen?

I brush everyday. I first massage olive oil in my scalp. Then I brush 150 strokes in all my balding areas, temples, hairline, etc.
Then I brush about 110-120 strokes on my sides. This is per a guy named "mukunda M" on yahoo forums recommendation. Apparently he and others got results with this.
I could tell I lost some hairs up top initially, but not a major shed.
But the sides just seem significantly more thin now. They actually seemed to thicken up initially, but now the hair shafts just look more thin which is strange. Maybe its just because some hairs have shed so overall things look thinner.
My question though: Is hair on the sides maybe more sensitive to friction or do they operate under different mechanisms of hairloss then the top of the head?
