maybe rice is not ok?
I read somewhere that cs was saying that rice was ok...but I m not that sure specially after reading this...
I was reading an article from mercola and I found this:
there are a number of other foods with very similar properties to wheat! The following foods contain "chitin binding lectins", which are similar to wheat lectin (WGA):
Potato
Tomato
Barley
Rye
Rice

Re: maybe rice is not ok?
Honestly, I think its pretty arguable that the optimum diet for humans would be a totally grain-free diet. That said, many people are going to opt for sub-optimal diets in order to get some pleasure from eating. Its very difficult to eat a diet totally devoid of wheat, barley, rye, potatoes, and rice. In fact, it sucks.
Yes, minimizing exposure to these things is probably a great idea, and it really depends on the severity of your issues at the moment. If you are dealing with autoimmune ailments, joint pain/arthritis (has autoimmune components), bowel problems (IBD, Chron's), I think a total elimination is really important until the gut is healed. However, for most of us just minimizing exposure would do a world of good. And for those times when we are going to indulge, take a good sized dose of n-acetyl glucosamine. It will bind these lectins and keep them from attaching to the mucosal cells of the gut, but it isn't perfect.
