New try at Iodine, big shed !! Empty New try at Iodine, big shed !!

Post  mikeymike Thu Sep 27, 2012 2:09 am

After having somehow stabilized my hair loss during one year (still losing but no crazy shedding), I'm now experiencing a shedding phase.
I just started iodine 2 weeks ago, and I'm taking 8 drops of lugol 2% (25mg in total I presume).
Note that I have gradually increased (one drop a day) and I have done the salt loading protocol.
I'm taking selenium and a lot of vit C with it.

What could be going on ?
Is it a bromide detox effect or am I turning hyperthyroidic ?

Actually I tried Iodine because of the lack of energy I have, not especially regarding hair.
I'm now considering to drop it cause it scares me a bit.

What do you think ?

Thanks a lot

Mike

I been wanting to try the iodine for the same reasons but have been little put off by the complications in getting dosage correct & potential adverse side effects.

I have instead decided to take route with Organic Red Maca. Good for energy & has Iodine in it too. I'm waiting on delivery still so can't comment on how I'm getting on with it.

Maybe it's something you might want to consider.

Take smaller amounts until your body gets used to it then, get the other needed minerals/co-factors while doing so.

quote from wikipedia I know maybe not accurate, but even if close... darker colored maca roots (red, purple, black) contain significant amounts of natural iodine, a 10-gram serving of dried maca generally containing 52 µg of iodine.

That's not much at all. You would be better off taking kelp powder/capsules.
