Re: Found this boar brush, any good?
I'm not sure. It could be alright. The only thing I'd worry about is the length of the bristles -- they look kinda short. I wonder if they'd penetrate to the scalp if you had hair at any decent length? Something to think about?
The device looks to be electric and from an Australian site. If you don't live in Australia and you purchase it, be aware that you'd probably need a power adapter to run it, as most countries have different plugs and run at different voltages.
But if you are from OZ, do you know about the Nu-Brush? http://www.geoaustralia.com/english/Nu-Brush.html
They cost $1.50 from the local chemist (most seem to have them). I have two (one for each hand) and they really massage and bring blood flow to my scalp. They cost next to nothing. If you're in Australia, I reckon to give them a shot. Only thing is that the bristles seem to snap after about a month, but that might be because I apply a lot of pressure when I use mine.

Did you get hair breakage from the nu-brush? Is it working?

Re: Found this boar brush, any good?
This is the type I have:
http://www.sallybeauty.com/Boar-Bristle-Brush/SBS-217201,default,pd.html?cm_vc=SEARCH
It was SUPER cheap (3 or 4 bucks). It just doesn't go through the thicker sections of the hair, so I'm wondering if I should buy another type of brush...perhaps plastic fibers, that can go through the rest of the hair and get the crown area. The boar bristles just don't penetrate that far into the hair for me.

I don't think you'd get hair breakage from the nu-brush. But I'm still getting hair breakage because I'm still doing the Margo (towel) Method along with brushing with the nu-brush.
I also have a boar bristle brush and recently purchased a massage hammer as recommended by Beebrox.
I limited my hair breakage by changing my shampoo type, so it's not as bad as it was.
Is it working?
Yep, but nothing dramatic yet. At about the 3 month mark I did get a few hairs go terminal and I can see a lot more vellus hair. Nothing to write home about though, a tiny amount of regrowth. No one would notice it. I can only see it when I look closely in the mirror.
It's hard to say what's working for me as I'm doing a lot of different manual methods.

Are you taking any internals or using a topical?

Re: Found this boar brush, any good?
I'm not taking internals at the moment. I have in the past, but not since starting the manual methods.
I have ordered Oleda Hair helpers, though. I don't know if it's a good internal, but it's cheap and only 1 pill a day. I'll see how I go with them.
On the topical front, I don't do anything really. Occasionally, I'll massage olive oil on my scalp and leave it overnight (I might do this once a month or so).
