Can Scalp Massages Make Dark Circles Under Eyes?

not to sound the alarm or anything but im trying to figure out what could be causing this. My roommate recently told me it looked like someone beat me up. He said I had dark circles and bags under my eyes. I notice it too but I think I have always had a little color under my eyes and he might just have noticed because he was drunk.

Anyways the only thing I really have done different is the scalp exercises. I do massages, brushing and brush tapping on head. I basically take my hands and "smosh up" my scalp from the sides for a few minutes each day. I brush each day for a few mins and tap with my brush on my hairline for a few mins a day.

Could scalp exercises and massages cause this effect? I can see little veins under my eyes a little better and there is a purplish streak under my eyes too sometimes. Does this sound related? I got to thinking maybe this could be like rogaine since rogaine increases blood flow to scalp also? Thanks

I don't think scalp massage having any kind of side effects like dark circles.I think you should take some proper medical advice before taking any conclusion.

you taking also minox in your battle? If yes, then probably it's the case.

Im not taking minox. But doesn't scalp exercises kinda work the same way as minox? I mean I thought minox increased blood to the scalp too? Of course I know it's different. But could increasing the blood to the scalp also allow some of the blood to "pool" under your eyes?

Minox is have bad side due alcohol containment, which is not very good for the skin... There is no way that blood from the scalp comes under your eyes, imo...

Has anyone else noticed this since doing scalp massages/exercises at all? I mean im not sure I would have even noticed unless my roomate pointed it out. Doesn't it make sense that a increase to blood flow to the head means also the veins under eyes? Since the skin under the eyes is 6 times thinner than the rest of facial skin this extra blood shows there as darker areas and little veins? Am I crazy for even considering this?

you never know. could be how the minox side comes about, im not sure. never really looked at an overview on the minox sides, as I have little interest in it based on the dependent growth issue. id search for an overview of recent data or theory on minoxidil sides and see whats there then see if that makes sense in terms of what you are experiencing.
