Girlfriend needs help with stomach
Hi all. Was wondering if anyone could give a clue to as what is going on with her stomach. She eats fairly healthy with no gluten and very little dairy as for her those two exacerbates her problem. She feels that anything she eats give a stomach ache and lots of gas, burping being the form. It has been going on for a while with her and she has seen a few doctors and recently had a ct scan which she is still awaiting a call from. She had norwalk a while back and she feels that having this ruined her digestive tract (norwalk is basically throwing up from both ends for a day). If anyone has any idea what could be causing this or what could help her at least eat without being in pain would be great, thanks.

I would suggest super enzymes found at iherb or betaine hcl. Some cayenne pepper would also be a good choice to help heal the intestine. DGL also helps heal the gut. More than likely there is some sort of flora imbalance, would be wise to make some SCD yogurt and eat a spoon of it everyday.

Hey Elan,
I second the yogurt idea. I took a tip from one of the admins and another poster here and added S Boulardi to my probiotic rotation. It is incredible. Also, don't underestimate how powerful glutamine, gelatin, and colostrum can be for gut healing.
But from looking at the problems you mentioned I would say she simply isn't digesting properly and HCL would probably due the trick, especially if H Pylori is present. In addition she may have a case of SIBO so the addition of things like olive leaf extract will help here, but a probiotic will be key.

first off id suggest the same as others, a good probiotic, +chorella, which amongst aother things helps to make good bacteria proliferate.
another good natural antiemetic is ginger, theres otc ginger from ur drug shop u can get.
if that doesnt work then try a chemical anti emetic metoclopramide.

Glutamine is supposed to help heal the digestive tract. It helped me. She might try that. It's odorless and tasteless and can be mixed with any liquid.
Of course probiotics, as all have mentioned, but my experience with S. Boulardii is go slow at first. It can constipate in the beginning. Also, my understanding of S. Boulardii is that it's more of a prebiotic and you need to supplement with actual gut flora if you're deficient in those (sounds like your GF may be after her illness). It helps the flora to grow but is not a bacteria itself.
Also FWIW, Zypan is the best, gentlest HCL supplement I've found. It's the only one I can tolerate. It's cheap and it works.
