Anyway to reverse receding gums?

I have tried oil pulling with Organic Seasame seed oil for a few months now and no difference with the receding gums yet. Any other rememdies or maybe I should be more patient? I did go a few years without brushing my teeth.....I know you can laugh at me. If anyone has any other remedies or products....shoot! Thanks

Thanks, the vitamin c rub on the gums sounds interesting. Just not sure about the comfrey yet. If swallowed it can cause serious illness or death. If I apply it to my gums even with a rinse im sure some traces are swallowed....

Well erm, I think any healing remedy should have a very positive effect topically. Swishing calendula, colostrum, aloe vera, comfrey... maybe even colloidal silver o.O

I keep meaning to do it myself but I keep putting it off lol

The only other variable might be keeping the mouth nice and clean while it's done, so swishing some kind of antibacterial and/or alkaline solution like xylitol or baking soda around the mouth probably all helps as well while the gums are healing

And how do you do that? And I am sure people have reversed them in other ways, everybody body is different

The most common method I've heard of (it won't fully reverse but it does to an extent so I've been told/read) is by taking high dose vit c along with oil pulling/ salt rinsing.

Well, I'm not sure exactly :/

Making sure you are getting enough salt, sugar and nutrients is a good start.

The positive effects of oil pulling are doubled by rinsing with a bicarb of soda/ saltwater mouthwash after. (just personal experience)

Also I find that I have much better saliva production at night if I put enough clothes on so that I actually sweat a bit while asleep.

What about all the success stories I linked to?

I have been doing the oil pulling for 20 minute and salt water rinse after pretty consistent( have missed a few days) for a few months. Teeth are whiter, no change on the gums. I will be patient though, because I smoked for a 5 year period and never brushed my teeth( yes I know nasty) I am surprized my mouth is even in decent health.

If you make a decoction of the comfrey root, it can be swallowed, no problem. I'm drinking it myself daily, a quarter cup or so.

CoQ10 is specific for the gums. All the info Hoppipolla shared is good. Good luck!

I got CO10 200 mg seems kind of low, but on day 2 with them and I will continue with it

Here is a article about getting older and gum recession. Has something to do with a overaggressive protein called DEL-1. Seems similar to hair loss with the PGD2 making to much protein

Go to a periodontist. If your gums are bleeding frequently your gingivitis is already likely beyond the mild stage. They have some procedures that can help to reduce the bacterial populations in your mouth... root scaling, etc. There are prescription antiseptic mouthwashes (chlorhexidine) which can kill virtually all the bacteria in your mouth. If you don't address the bacterial populations causing your gums to recede, then you will have persistent inflammation, and there is no way your gums could really heal. Listerine does not even really approach the effectiveness of chlorhexidine mouthwash. For a bad case of gingivitis that's probably the route I'd go. If it's only mild bleeding you could use an essential oil mouth rinse, and put hydrogen peroxide into your waterpik. And floss, with unwaxed, unflavored dental floss

If situation is not severe, flossing with sodium bicarbonate will also clear your mouth well. Washing your teeth after every meal with xylitol/sodium bicarbonate/salt or mixures is helpful as well. Some are doing it also with vit C. Be sure you dont cause bleeding while doing it. Being gentle and consistent is a key, imo.

Also oil pulling is great for the gums and other health benefits. My vote for a medium goes to coconut oil over sesame oil - better taste and whitening effect on the teeth. More info here:

I have gum recession. I also had gingivitis, and my gums were bleeding every time I brushed, now they stop bleeding switched up my toothpaste brushed twice a day rinced my mouth with sea salt and water and wala no more bleeding. I want to fix my slighty receded gum though. Any thing new on the front? I tried oil pulling, but it didn't seem to help regenerate. Then again I was drinking alcohol during those days so maybe ill try again.

Salt+sodium bicarbonate has actually been tested as a dentrifice in controlled clinical study and should be as effective as toothpaste. Maybe more so if your gums are sensitive to the chemicals in commercial toothpastes.

Vitamin C supports connective tissue, and deficiency could make bleeding gums worse.

Reduced form coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinol) should help with the inflammation.

Aloe vera reduced the size of periodontal pockets in one study. Could soothe the gums as well, but one problem I found with it is your saliva quickly washes it off, so I dont know if it works just by rubbing it on. They pushed it into the sulcus with a special tip in the study. Should probably help anyhow. All the "natural" moutherinses contain aloe vera.

So anyone has any natural easy remedies i can maybe mix in?
