Dandruff after adding kefir to diet
Hello,
I figured I would ask this question here, since people here have mentioned kefir as beneficial for overall health. I added kefir to my diet 2 month ago, and since then have had terrible dandruff. The only other addition to my diet was coconut oil. The dandruff has been scaly, and if I even brush my hair I will have 10-20 hairs fall out from my hairline since the dandruff has appeared (which is worst along hairline). When I was younger, I would have very mild dandruff, just a few flakes, but never covering most of my scalp.
I tried tea tree oil (1%) shampoo, which would only lessen the symptoms. I also tried diluted ACV, which would make it go away for maybe 8 hours, then it would come back with a vengeance. I don't know if it's necessarily caused by the kefir, but it seems odd that it started at the same time. I am thinking of eliminating the kefir from my diet to see if it gets better at this point, but wondered if anyone had any good suggestions for eliminating the dandruff? It may not be causing the hair loss itself, but it definitely seems to be making it worse.
