Gonna try mixin' up a new topical!
I decided that... I can't rush my internal healing. It will take time.
So, in the mean time I'll mix up a new topical!
It's...
- Grapefruit seed extract (to kill infection and act as an astringent to reduce sebum)
- Witch hazel (powerful astringent)
- Glycolic acid (powerful skin peel / exfoliator)
- and of course water for dilution
All applied all together twice a day morning and night!
I'll let you know if it works!
Hoppi!

How much GSE do you put in the shampoo normally? And also in the topical?

To be honest I kind of make it up as I go along! If I have a reasonable size bottle of shampoo I'll tend to just put a very generous squeeze of GSE in there, if it's a one-off shampoo I'll put maybe 8-12 drops.
I think when I do the topical I'll just go with what feels right and seems to get results

Oh, something interesting that crossed my mind earlier.
I was brainstorming and I thought "Why aren't I using an antiandrogen in it? That would help to as surely it's the androgens causing the sebum and then the infection.." (this is how I see it anyway) but I realized... the problem with antiandrogens is that with the possible exception of Eucapil, they go systemic. So you can't use some mega strong one (or at least not commonly, I know stuff like RU and CB are supposed to be strong and not too systemic) as the whole time you're being mega careful about systemic absorption and hormonal sensitivity. However, with astringents, antifungals and skin peels, you can pretty much go at it with as much force as you want as long as you aren't damaging the hair or your scalp. I think this is why many things like topical beta-sitosterol as natural remedies don't get that much success commonly, because you're limited as to how strongly you can make most antiandrogenic treatments because we need healthy androgen balance in the rest of our bodies!
That's the way I rationalized it anyway Besides, after finasteride I seem to be more sensitive to antiandrogens ._.

My shampoo says on the side of the bottle no grapefruit seed extract as one of the advantages of the product. Is grapefruit seed extract bad?

I'd be careful with the skin exfoliates. Using every once in a while is fine but I'm now under the impression that using every day, even mild ones can damage the scalp skin long term. Thinning skin and creating more fibrosis, not enough time to heal.
