I am a thin person and try to eat well and also gain weight at the same time. I notice through spring and summer I gain weight and around this time of the year I start losing weight and stay thinner through winter. I also am more irritable during the colder months. Could there be any reasoning behind this?

Maybe you just eat more in the summer because you feel better and your appetite is lessened in the winter. Seems with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas, there are a lot more occasions during summer to over-indulge on treats (think ice cream, beer, sodas and juices, bbqs, etc.). Also, I know some people who live in really hot states so they hide away in their houses in the summer and therefore are less active during that season--maybe you are one of them? There's probably not much more explanation then you are either eating more in summer and/or moving less that you do in winter I think if this is something that repeats itself on an annual basis.
