glutamine as a glutathione precursor
IH, a year ago you stated you the glutamine supplementation isn't likely to help my hair. After all the debate about glutathione http://regrowth.com/hairloss-forums/viewthread.cfm?f=1&t=22777
do you still think glutamine is not usefull in fighting MPB? I believe ALA, ALC, glutamine might be a powerfull combo. Thank you

Re: glutamine as a glutathione precursor
Prague - I think Glutathione is important, but as for Glutamine; I have not found it to improve my hair. I have tried this on many periods.
I get plenty of glutathione through supplementation of Lipoic acid. Also at times will take N-Acetyl Cysteine (if I am getting any garbage food) and it's an excellent precursor to Glutathione.
When I tried Glutamine, this was before and after supplementation of Lipoic acid. Glutamine is good stuff, especially for body builders and for the sick and intestinal problems, but at least in my experience it's not going to do anything for hair.
One possible exception would be its growth hormone releasing, when taking over 2 grams at night. Someone with low growth hormone levels might benefit, but that is only a theory.

ok...
and what about an amino acids combo consisting of :
L-glutamine
L-arginine
L-carnitine
Glycine, L-cysteine (optional)
and a good multi vit B like vitamin code for ex.
Don't you think that could be tested to stop hairloss as well ?
PS : does brewer's yeast already contain ALL thoses aminos ?

Re: glutamine as a glutathione precursor
Has anyone tried reduced-glutathione supplements? if so, how did it work out for you? i've read that it may not be readily absorbed when taken orally, but i always see a bunch of positive reviews on iherb, bestvite, etc. for glutathione supps.
Anyone care to chime in?

I've been taking a couple of these per day ... not for hair.
