Can DIM cause hair loss?
I've been using DIM for 5 weeks now and I've noticed some increased shedding. There has been no change to my regimen so I thought that perhaps this was the cause.
Thoughts?

jmoss1982 - The shedding is probably temporary. DIM is more of a pro-hair supplement. I have used it for periods of time without any problem. In fact, some advocate using it as a hair loss protector, because it gets rid of bad estrogen metabolites.
It also downregulates gelatinase enzymes.

DIM side effect (hair shedding)
Dear Friends
I'm omid from tehran-iran
I have a very important question, help me Plz
my wife is 32 years old , she started taking one tablet daily DIM, Diindolylmethane 100 mg, (Source Naturals Brand) 8 weeks ago for PMS symptoms (headaches, Acne, hot flashes, cravings for sweet and salty foods, IBS, Nausea, Decreased sexual desire, Depression and Anxiety ... etc) , she feel a little better but after 2 week noticed very increased hair shedding too much. There has been no change to her regimen.
She really needs to take; but What can be done for negative side effect (hair shedding)

Sounds like a prolactin issue. Have her try Chasteberry (St. Vitex). Also, boost her zinc.

Re: Can DIM cause hair loss?
I tried DIM since to lower estradiol, but it gave me headaches (can't figure out why) and itchy scalp (possibly by lowering estradiol, shbg alos decreases and free t (already at the high end) increases. that was for 100 mg pills. tried less and got less sides.
prolactin was/is low for me.

Re: Can DIM cause hair loss?
thank you so much for answer my question.
my wife did not continue to use DIM after 8 weeks; she started taking Chasteberry (Vitex) about one month, also take multi vitamin plus zinc approx 25 mg and cystine-B6 2000 mg per day but after one mounth discontinue DIM still shedding like before
Prolactin is High or low? is Vitex and zinc complete cover negative side effect, what can be done more?
excuse me for my bad english.
