Andrew Saul Ph D. an editor for the Orthomolecular journal talks about using Vitamin C at 100,000 mg per day intravenously, safely. At that dose level vitamin C is known to kill cancer cells.
This is not to say either of us need 100,000 mg in a day, but it does show the safety of vitamin C at higher dose levels. The max amount that I read about was 250,000 mg in a day. I think an important thing to note is that the RDA is simply to prevent scurvy, not for optimal health. I am all about optimal health and vitamin C is very important in preventing cell damage.
