Healthiest Red Wine?
Does anyone know which red wine is considered the "healthiest"? And what would you guys consider moderate consumption (a glass/week?).

I think Pinot Noir (made with grapes grown in Northern climates - ie New York, Oregon) has by far the highest reseveratrol content - it also happens to be my favorite so I drink it all the time.

moderate consumption can be 1-2 glasses a day but no more than that. I try to keep it at one a day although last night it was 1 bottle.

Re: Healthiest Red Wine?
I highly recommend Santa Emma Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is the one that got me very excited about wine's health benefits initially. I just revisited it after trying a couple other brands, and it is without doubt superior. This is an inexpensive wine, about 11 dollars for a magnum. It stains teeth and even lips like no other--the vinyard must have some great grapes.
For flavor on a budget, I highly recommend wines produced by Bogle Vinyards. They taste more like a wine three times the price, incredible oak finish.
All said, I am a huge proponent of wine consumption. It's my number one on my list, above EC. While I was on the wagon, I tried every form of polyphenols, resveratrol, etc. I downed Acai, pycnogenol, resveratrol. I could never approach what the wine does for circulation, anti- estrogen, fat burning, etc. I don't think I will ever take resveratrol again, I sort of think it is rubbish the way it is marketed and sold.

Re: Healthiest Red Wine?
wine wine wine....
what was the question ? the better or the healthier ?
To the better, you know, that is a HUGE question of PERSONAL taste for the large part. You, young american girls, like the cabernet sauvignon ( like "Bordeaux" for most of it) that was elevated in oak barrels, for the woody taste...cabernet are rich in tannins
Pinot noir, knig of "bourgogne", are different, my favourite though....
Anyway, the HEALTHIEST, is without any contest ORGANICS ONE. So guys, unless you're drinking an very old wine, choose organics one, because grape IS the WORST fruit ever pesticizied, insecticized, fongicizied, and all the zied word you want.
And for the interested ones, Wine contain Sulfite. ALL OF THEM. so for the maniacs of sulfites...
Organics ones, and i can tel you there are plenty of marvellous one. Don't ask me the name, but ask to your wine seller. Great wines all over the world now, not only in france !
Cheers !
And don't forget the raw cheese with it... otherwise you won't catch the lady....

I totally agree with Europe.
And in second place, I would choose kosher wines.
