Re: Fasting idea for Candida - Coconut oil, water, magnesium sulphate
This metal / candida and everyone-has-them myth, has created a whole industry on its own, selling infromation and useless products and theories.
There are "doctors" that live on mercury and candida. Think about it, it's out there, everywhere.
I'm betting seriously that Hoppi DOESN'T HAVE candida, but essentialy a different dysbiosis problem and/or food intolerance, mild IBS or chron's.
Candida is a fkn joke, compared to protozoa and other infections...

haha I'm ALMOST certain enough to actually take you up on that bet! lol
I'm pretty darn confident about this (particularly as I have actually SEEN very, very fungal looking stuff when I use the loo >.< ).
But, let's see how much more happens using this oregano!!
Additionally, I believe that IBS, "food intolerance" and crohn's disease are FAR more wishy-washy nonsense terms than Candida overgrowth!!! Furthermore I believe that all three are very often or even usually CAUSED by Candida!
As for other forms of dysbiosis.. phh I dunno, I highly, highly doubt it. And anyway, Candida treatment of antifungals like oregano and probiotics will correct that anyway. But I don't believe it is the case

That's the case with every alternative viewpoint, orthomolecular medicine, TCM, ayurveda etc., just because people make money with it or rip people off....LittleFighter wrote:This metal / candida and everyone-has-them myth, has created a whole industry on its own, selling infromation and useless products and theories.
I think most people have candida overgrowth as well as metals, just like most people are iodine deficient! I don't think hoppis candida is coming out though, probably his disgestion is just f*cked. Probiotics with oreganooil are a waste of money for obvious reasons btw.

Hm. lol I agreed with that post for a moment there!
I think you're right that in this modern age of refined sugar and carbs, alcohol, cooked foods and everything between two slices of bread (and overeating, and stress and smoking!) we are making ourselves very, very prone to Candida overgrowth. I think that pollution, poor quality tap water and amalgam fillings (and lack of things like dietary pectin, chlorophyll and iodine) has made us more metal toxic too. So we agree there
However, "digestion is f*cked" is a given lol, I could have told you... (1/2)
Re: Fasting idea for Candida - Coconut oil, water, magnesium sulphate
(2/2 - sorry, on my phone and can't be bothered to get up!) ... that a whole year ago! My last year nearly with regards to this has been spent trying to understand WHY my digestion is screwed up because I believe that that holds the key not only to my MPB but also to most people's.
Lastly I think oregano (and other antifungals) and probiotics are fine as long as you don't take them too close to each other I don't want to nuke too much bacteria down there without reinforcing the good guys! ^_^

Hey Hoppi,
I'm glad to see that the Oil of Oregano is working for you. I have used and still use Oil of Oregano for a wide variety of things. The stuff is great in my opinion. I will be interested to see how you fare after you cease use however, because I have found that candida will usually grow right back without constantly taking Oil of Oregano. This lead me to seeking out the metal connection. Yes I know you are sick of hearing about metal chelation but hear me out for a second. It is well known now the connection between yeast and mercury and you said you wanted some evidence so I have tried to compile some for you.
First lets look at how much mercury is considered "safe" (imo ZERO is a good number)
Now lets look at some sources and amounts of mercury exposure.
Now the connection between Mercury and Candida:
Also it must be noted that Candida methylates elemental mercury making it more harmful. This is why chelation and killing yeast go hand in hand.

EPA "safe" levels of 0.1 mcg/kg. per day. That's one-tenth of a microgram, not one microgram.
Now lets look at some sources and amounts of mercury exposure.
People with high mercury uptake from their own dental amalgam fillings.
L Barregård,
G Sällsten,
B Järvholm
Department of Occupational Medicine, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Göteborg, Sweden.
Abstract
OBJECTIVES--To describe people with high mercury (Hg) uptake from their amalgam fillings, and to estimate the possible fraction of the occupationally unexposed Swedish population with high excretion of urinary Hg.
METHODS--Three case reports are presented. The distribution of excretion of urinary Hg in the general population was examined in pooled data from several sources.
RESULTS--The three cases excreted 23-60 micrograms of Hg/day (25-54 micrograms/g creatinine), indicating daily uptake of Hg as high as 100 micrograms. Blood Hg was 12-23 micrograms/l, which is five to 10 times the average in the general population. No other sources of exposure were found, and removal of the amalgam fillings resulted in normal Hg concentrations. Chewing gum and bruxism were the probable reasons for the increased Hg uptake. Extrapolations from data on urinary Hg in the general population indicate that the number of people with urinary excretion of > or = 50 micrograms/g creatinine could in fact be larger than the number of workers with equivalent exposure from occupational sources.
Mercury In Vaccines Contributing to Autism Epidemic
By age two, American children have received 237 micrograms of mercury through vaccines alone.
Now the connection between Mercury and Candida:
Removal of Dental Mercury: Often an Effective
Treatment for the Very Sensitive Patient
Alfred V. Zamm, MD, FACA, FACP1
Abstract
This study covers 22 patients who had
multiple severe sensitivities in that they were
extremely intolerant to inhalants (particles and
vapours), ingestants (food and chemicals) and
their own endogenous, normally occurring yeast
(Candida albicans).
The removal of dental mercury ("amalgam")
fillings was the single most effective method of
improving the health of these patients after other
methods were instituted, i.e., avoidance,
hyposensitization and nutritional improvement.
Also it must be noted that Candida methylates elemental mercury making it more harmful. This is why chelation and killing yeast go hand in hand.
