R-Lipoic Acid - Greying?
Just a quick issue I thought I'd get some opinions on. I have been using the IH6 for a year and a half now. During this time i've noticed some greying of hair in my facial hair (specifically the chin area) as well as the odd grey hair on my scalp. I just attributed this to 'getting older' (I'm 30) however and didn't link it to the supplements ive been taking. However after looking into, I stumbled across the following link

Theres a suggestion that lipoic acid could play a part in greying hair if not supplemented with enough biotin? I have been taking biotin alongside ALA, however there have been periods of time where I have run out and taken time to purchase more. Just wondering if this could have contributed to the greying I'm experiencing? I am experiment with this to see if I notice any changes but opinions would be appreciated

Sorry if this isn't too helpful, as I can't say much about ALA: graying seems fairly random so it might be hard to track this down. My scalp hair has been graying since high school. Beard has not though.

Re: R-Lipoic Acid - Greying?
Joey - I've been faithfully using high-dose lipoic acid for over seven years straight without any pause. My hair is not prone to gray. In fact, people wonder why I am not graying, because many of my peers are graying.
Graying is effected by the breakdown of melanocytes, and is fueled by hydrogen peroxide. Hydroxyl radical. Lasers as in a laser helmet would be one way to halt or reverse the gray--this is anecdotal of course.
The thyroid certainly plays a strong role here as well. However, there is also a genetic component that should not be over looked.
Indium is purported to help stop graying, but again this is anecdotal.

CS recently started using a laser helmet, and the idea of grey hairs getting reversed by laser helmets has been around since the Regrowth.com days. Quite a few reports on this, including OMG. Gives the hair a more youthful appearance in my experience.
When supplementing Biotin, Joey, I'd suggest NOT taking it with the lipoic acid as they compete. Biotin is available in egg yolks as well.

Nid, how about taking biotin in the morning and ALA in the evening?
