2010 Hair Loss Regimen Empty 2010 Hair Loss Regimen

Post  FW2000 Fri Oct 15, 2010 11:14 am

Just wanted to let everyone what I am taking right now and was interested too see what everyone on this board thought about my current regime. I have not regrown any hair (nor have I lost any more) over the last year or two, but have made huge a difference with getting rid of the acne and s. dermatitis on my face and scalp. I had to discontinue the Dr. Proctors Advanced Thinning Hair Treatment drops last year due to scalp inflamation. I am currently applying jojoba to my face and scalp at night. I wash my hair with Gary Null's shampoo and conditioner in the morning and wash my hair at night after I workout with Dr. Bronners 18-1 Hemp Peppermint Pure Castile Soap. Over the years I have added and stopped taking varios supplements. Below is what I am currently taking:

List
Vitamin World Mega Man Max Daily (2 per day) - 6 months
Krill Oil (2 pills per day) - 2 years
Fibroboost (2 pills per day) - 2 years
Vitamin D3 (5,000 IU) + Vitamin 90 mcg K2 as MK-7 - 1 month
Curcumin 95 - 6 months
B-12 500MG (I Hardly eat any meat) - 1 month
Bio-Enhanced Na-RALA 100mg (2-3 times per day) - 6 months (use to take alph lipoic)
Acetyl L-Carnitine 500mg (3 times per day) - 3 years
Trans-Resveratrol 200mg - 6 months
L-carnosine 500mg (twice per day) - 2 years
Co-Enzyme Q-10 100mg - several years
Milk Thistle 200mg - several years
Pro biotics - country Life (1 per day) - several years
Biotin 5000mcg - 5 years
Vitamin E Toco-Sorb (2 per day) - 1 year
Folic Acid 800mcg - several years
Macca 500mg - 9 months
Saw Palmetto 160mg (2 time per day) - 10 years
Vitamin C (Buffered) 1-2 grams (throughout the day) - 20 years
Glucosomine Sulfate with MSM - several years
Quercitan 800mg - several years
L-Glutamine 1000mg - 15 years
Creatine Monohydrate 5000mg (For working out) - 15 years
Green Tea Extract 400mg - several years
Calcium, Mag, Zinc & Vitamin D (natural factors - 1 per day) - 1.5 years

I also take green vegetable powders and red fruit powders several times per day and drink one cup of green tea per day. As noted above, please let me know if I should add or take out anything from this regime. My hair loss has stopped, but I have yet to see any regrowth.

Your regimen is pretty solid for overall health and halting hair loss, but for regrowth:

1) Laser Helmet
2) Scalp peel
3) Scalpure
4) Eclipta Alba Oil (also known as Bhringraaj Oil) and Neem Oil (NeemTreeFarms.com)
5) Daily use of Boar Bristle brush for exfoliation prior to applying topicals

Will you please give me some information on #2 and #3? I practice scalp-exfoliation and have gotten great results! Is #2 and #3 similar to scalp-exfoliation?

Hey misterE--

I personally use the 10% Mango Enzyme peel from ScalpSkinLady. Here is a link to her site/kit:

http://scalpskinworks.com/

Karen has been giving scalp peels professionally for years, and has had some real good feedback. Here is a feedback thread from WorldHairLoss.org:

http://www.worldhairloss.org/index.php/forums/viewthread/406

It's basically a complete exfoliation kit. The enzyme peel is gentle but good enough to do the trick.

Scalpure (http://www.Scalpure.com) does a great job of literally pulling like a magnet the debris out of your pores. Scalp feels fantastic after a treatment. Check out the thread on this forum for user feedback. I think that it definitely is responsible for thickening up my hair a bit and helping a few new hairs pop out on my temple. Smile

My Eclipta Alba also has Amla Oil in it as well. While it *is* a rodent study, when you combine that with the fact that it's been used traditionally for hair loss in ayuervedic medicine for ages, it adds a lot of weight to the claim that it will assist with hair growth.

Here is my Neem link:

Read the special offer at the bottom of the Neem page.

Nidhogge,

Thanks for the advice. I am definitely going to give some of these products a try. I also forget to mention that I also use Psoriasil Medicated Body Wash.

That's a solid regimen.

Our regimens are very similar (My current regimen is in my signature below).

I used to take multi-vitamins, but these days I am trying to minimize consumption of sythetic vitamins and am trying to get what I need from quality whole food sources. I think if you are taking green and red powders multiple times a day, you're probably good.

Instead of Milk Thistle I take Liv52, which I credit for singlehandedly curing a very persistent case of bacne.

I also dropped Glucosamine and MSM awhile back as I didnt think it was doing anything for me. I tried Cissus about a year back and I think it helped heal a bad case of tennis elbow, but I dont take the Cissus all of the time. If you have joint issues, I ddefinitely recommend trying it.

Saw Palmetto, I've read mixed opinions on, so I've avoided it.

I ready mixed opinions on Quercetin, so I also dropped it awhile back.

Maca - I've tried a few times and never really noticed anything. I've read that red maca is best, but I think you need to dose it at 3g+ per day.

Scroll down to: Bhringraj & Amalaki Hair Butter

It's only a butter in cooler temperature, but at room temperature, it's essentially an oil.

And you're welcome guys!

Also, I'd swap the Saw Palmetto for Epilobium (Epilobium.com).

I'll try to work on that article today! Got some free time finally. Smile

Personally, my boar bristle brush is pretty old, and as a result, the bristles are harder. Since I buzz down now, it's not an issue; I only use it for exfoliation now. However, if you have longer hair, I'd recommend a softer one so that you don't get split ends and maybe tugged out hairs. If you haven't used a boar bristle brush before, I think you'll be surprised at how good it is at making your hair appear more dense/thicker.

As far as which boar bristle brushes I like; personally, the square ones. Like the following:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wave-Hair-Brush-SOFT-bristles/dp/B003FKX176/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1287338179&sr=8-2v

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mens-Grooming-Hair-Brush-Bristles/dp/B003D73IQU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1287338179&sr=8-4

Decro:
Neem doesn't cause regrowth, it kills demodex and is good for hair and scalp.
